We had booked the best room of this hotel: a suite with a vast terrace and a juccuzi. Our first contact with the hotel was plainly horrible. 1. Surprise! Our room is on the fifth floor but the elevator (the only elevator, and a tight one) stops at the fourth. How fun it is to hoist two heavy pieces of luggage! 2. The horror when we opened the door: a foul smell of humidity, every item of fourniture, wall. etc scratched or bruised, a mattress that was probably an army surplus, wall-to-wall carpeting that hadn't been shampooed since the millenial, and a terrace with a jaccuzzi, yes, but also its control panel opened and a jumble of unassorted chairs and tables. We complained politely but resolutely to the reception lady who, oh surprise, did not seem surprised at all and suggested that we move to a comparable suite across the corridor. Intense relief. The new location lacked charm but it was decent, very roomy and the jaccuzzi was not an health and security hasard altough, after its first and only use we were quite appalled by the variety and the quantity of algae and other micro organismes that littered the tub. All in all, the second room was mediocre but correct.
3. Breakfast: functional, repetitive, smiles optional (we never received the option), "juices" that made Kool-Aid seem healthy and tasty. In sum, please spend more money and go to another hotel or stay a few les days in Rhodes, but PLEASE avoid thst place.
