Admittedly, I've passed through Escalante time to time and it never seemed more like a one night stop. But I was so impressed with how much of a central place to so many cool things.
But in order to have a good basecamp, you don't want to stay at a motel that peaked decades before. I thought the reviews were solid for Circle of Destination and they were right. The room was comfortable, I liked how much more spacious the room was compared to other hotels of comparable price. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, and it was quiet.
I loved that I can park my Vespa (we were on a scooter club trip) right in front of the room. It made loading and unloading easy. I loved how simple check in was-- I got an email with my room number and my room code.
We went to the restaurant next door for breakfast and that's got to be some of the best pancakes I've had in a long time. Circle of Destination can be a destination on its own. For me, it's now a new basecamp for me and adventures along Highway 12. I'm kicking myself for not staying longer!
