While I appreciated the hospitality and found most of the staff to be friendly, there were a few issues that left me disappointed.
Upon arrival, I noticed that my bed sheets and pillow had several blood stains, which was quite concerning. After informing the reception, they did try to resolve the issue, which I appreciate, but such a situation should not have occurred in the first place. I believe housekeeping standards should be reviewed to ensure better cleanliness for future guests.
Additionally, I encountered an issue with billing. I had only one extra drink during my stay, which I paid for immediately, as the rest was included in my booking. However, on the night before my departure, the receptionist informed me that I still had an open bill on my room. This was frustrating, as I knew I had settled my payment. I have experienced similar situations in other countries, and while I was not entirely surprised, I was disappointed to see it happen here.
That being said, I do want to acknowledge that most of the staff were warm and welcoming, and I generally found people in Mauritius to be friendly and honest compared to other places I’ve traveled.
