The check in procedure was too complicated and faulty . The copy and paste address would not work because included the word SEE from "see you soon. I spent all night to get the code and was not successful. The instructions said the code will be provided on June 27. It was June 27 but no code and no time was specified. No one would answer the phone until I got there. Not all costumers are capable to generate a digital picture ID! The a/c was too cold and could not be adjusted (adjustable registers would do trick). The beds are set too high. After the first night I couldn't get the TV to work.
The building was secure. You had to use a passcode to get into the building and into your room. It wasnāt the most modern building or room, but it was clean and comfortable and close to all the events. We wanted to see walking distance.
The location and place itself was perfect. We were able to text directly when some help was needed and they answered immediately and helped resolve our code problem. The room was clean and well kept but the floors felt a bit ādingyā. Donāt get me wrong it was kept well but felt like a college dorm room level of clean which ik is what this building once was. I would totally come back and loved it and didnāt feel unsafe or like it was gross by any means it was just a bit dingy like I said which is what I kind of expected for the price! The stairwell tho had a weird urine smell to it. But again it was overall great just thought I would add some honesty for those who might be more ocd about cleanliness than I am. The parking (not stay Pittsburghās fault) ended up being a lot more than $25 per day it ended up being about $100 for 2 days cause they charged each time you left and it wasnāt unlimited re entry. But again kind of to be expected !
It's hostel-level accomodations. The beds are fine, not luxurious, like dorm beds. There's decent cable, basic kitchen implementa, no sharp knives. The floors don't feel clean, but they do get mopped. There are vinyl tiles coming up in the bathroom. I got 2 minutes of hot water. They do supply soap, shampoo and conditioner in the shower.
Pull the front door closed so it locks, it doesn't always latch when you go through.
It's fun to see the river from the apartment.
There's an old space heater available that doesn't look like it has a safety switch, draw your own conclusions.
We stayed in Apt 4D. The building is very old and not well maintained. The apartment floor seemed to not have been mopped for a long time, bathroom had hairs in shower and crumbs of food on floor when we arrived. I cleaned it with a tissue and dirty grime from floor immediately came up. Bath towels smelled like mildew, and shower/bathroom was not well kept. Bedroom with queen bed: worn mattress that fully caved in on right side and my partner and I had bed bug bites on the morning we were checking out. While an old place doesnāt always need to be awful- these apartments are not well maintained or cleaned. Itās a shame because many people want to support a small business, but the towels, linens, mattresses, etc need a major update and the place needs to be disinfected and deep cleaned regularly. Would not stay here again.
communication to get in was terrible. and the shower was the worst i mean the worst iām not a complainer. but for the amount of money you get a night upgrade your showers!
The Sheets were dirty with stains and some other residue and also smelled of Mildew. The rooms cooling/ heating was composed of a plug in fan and plug in heater. The Heater did not work.
The television had seemingly never been cleaned and the screen was cover with filmed to where I cleaned it myself. I also then observed while using the Roku that one of my neighbors was accidently controlling my setup (observed by the menu randomly moving and selecting things)
The promo code did not work for the parking garage so I now have a large garage fee that completely moots the low price of the stay.
Great apartment in a walkable area that felt safe. Tons to see and do in the area. The only down side was the water pressure in the shower, that wasnt great.
hair in the sink looked like it belonged to a man who hadn't trimmed his beard for a while. shower stall was stained and smelled of mildew. marijuana smell infiltrated via the ventilation system. there is no thermostat.
great location, low price, and useful parking discount make this a reasonable choice, but there are issues.
The sheets were all stained up, we luckily brought extra linens and switched them ourselves. And the floors werenāt swept. But we did feel secure for the night Iāll give it that.
