95% of our stay was amazing. The location, pools, access to trams, shops and the beach. Everything was great.
We had a two bedroom appartment on the 32nd floor, the views were stunning. The building (or perhaps just parts of rooms) can feel a bit dated, but we thought it was really good for what we paid.
However, the day before we checked out our key-fob access stopped working. The Reception was no help, they sent us to a Security window.
Security had a random story about an email from an agent who told them to block our key fob and access, something to do with the basement (???). We'd never been anywhere near the basement and were on holiday, we didn't even have a car!
The Hotels.com online agent was no good at all at helping us, they just got stuck on hold on the phone to the hotel reception. It took 20+ minutes for my wife to convince Security to reactivate our key fob and let us back into the building.
It really was UNACCEPTABLE.
No real reason. We'd paid our money and expected access to the building and room 100% of our stay. I'm glad it was at 5.30pm after a day of shopping and not at 2am after dinner and drinks.
Will we come back? Probably, but here's hoping that the access issues don't happen again.
