The garden room is an amazing place to stay. Check in was really easy and the staff very welcoming. The room was very clean and the cleaners came in daily topping up waters, towels etc. The hot tub was always a welcoming sight after a long day exploring. Breakfast at the Joiners arms was excellent. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay such a memorable one.

Excellent location, 10 minutes walk to the beach, beautiful hotel, with excellent staff who were very engaging and helpful, from the gardener to the house keepers to the front of house staff. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful last minute night away ..... hot tubs aren't usually our thing but it was clean, covered and secluded so had a lovely time using it. Could do with some mats or something putting down to help clean feet when you are getting in and out. But apart from that .... we had an amazing night together.

We spent four mid week nights at the garden room.Itwas just what we needed a beautiful quiet spot to rest and enjoy Northumbria . It may be different when wedding or events are in full swing but I’m sure the staff and location will mean you have a wonderful time.

Beautiful room and appreciated the upgrade. Such lovely surroundings and there were thoughtful touches in every spot, including have breakfast sandwiches delivered if you wanted to have breakfast in your room. The only (very minor) criticism was about the stone footpath...but tricky to navigate with a suitcase or any form of heels! Every other part of the hotel and the garden rooms was excellent.

We had a lovely 2 night stay in one of the Garden rooms. Lovely quiet peaceful setting with lots of lovely flowers in the grounds. All the staff were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. Room had nice sitting area at front and garden area at the back. A fridge was very useful.Spacious room, comfy bed, large shower room. Dressing gowns provided and tea coffee, biscuits topped up both days. We could walk to beach in about 15 mins. Surrounding area is beautiful. There are 2 pubs within walking distance, both very busy so book in advance.

The staff were very friendly. Sadly, the communication between the staff and us was poor and this resulted in no prepaid champagne on arrival and no breakfast on the final morning, despite these things having been communicated and confirmed many times prior to arrival. The main bedroom of the cabin was cosy and very clean but unfortunately parts of the bathroom were filthy, as was the outside area, which housed the hot tub and outdoor seating.

We love coming here - the rooms are wonderfully designed and the location is great. We did feel this time that the room needed a bit of TLC and the cleaning inside and around the outside terraces could have been better. We opted for breakfast to the room, which was really convenient but didn’t feel as good value as what you would get from going to the Joiners Arms and quality was a bit lacking. However, overall you can’t beat this spot on a sunny day - thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

As soon as we arrived, it was pretty clear where we needed to go to check in. We were in awe with the place, such detail and characteristics. We would definitely recommend visiting Newton Hall for its bar and with reception inside that was 24hours, there was always someone on hand for any questions you may have had. The room/ cabin itself was pretty nice and had all essentials you need to store milk in little fridge or make a brew. The room and the bathroom were very clean and loved the attention to detail with charm and character. You could even buy a s’mores kit while using a small safe fire outside which we did under a blanket of stars. The place was local to seaside, some cafes and restaurants and food is delicious. If you are driving I’d recommend the tourist places like Alnwick and seaside for fish and chips. Food can buy pricey though in your typical tourist hotspots so be mindful of this. If staying at the cabin bit, there are nice walks and wildlife surrounding the area which is nice to see, hot tubs are a must if relaxing and the staff are very friendly and helpful if needed. After the amazing experience we had, we’d definitely go back and explore other areas in Northumberland.
