Not that great

No refrigerator, microwave in the room. The room was very small.

not meant to be a guest room?

a cramped basement room; missing light fixture; broken shower curtain rod; wi-fi and cellphone service very weak or not working throughout the stay; the great room area was closed

Check in was very stressful. There was no one there to assist, when could not access room. Also had 2 rooms booked which at first could not be found. It would be helpful to always have someone or a contact number that can assist a person eho is not computer or technology savy Been to this propertyseveral times however when there was someone avaiable and loved my stay. Enjoy the property overall

Autumn visit in Vermont 2025

The internet was a bit intermittent on the first day I arrived, but it became more stable on my second day and there after. I didn't use the AC, had the window open the whole time, which was lovely; smelling the Vermont fresh air. The pillows were a bit full and hard but the bed seemed ok. It was disappointing that the restaurant was not open and that there is no kettle in the room to boil water for a cup of tea. The service was excellent though, as any issues that arose, Emma got back to me pretty toot sweet! Thank you Emma!

I had an excellent stay at the Mountaineer Inn. The Inn was very clean, quiet, and peaceful. I just wish the pool was available for use. I’m confident the I will stay at the Mountaineer Inn again in the future.

I don’t know when these photos were taken, but this place is a complete construction zone piles of garbage all over the property tools out no one to be found in the building except for someone painting at 8 o’clock in the morning without a wet paint sign. It was a bizarre experience. The bed was comfortable. The shower was horrible and they have the strangest lighting in the room that I’ve ever seen. This is a completely unmanned property.

Ruined a 40 dollar shirt-wet paint right in front of my door ,no sign or barrier-painter laughed

Just fine

It’s fine for the price. Bed was comfortable, sheets and towels were clean. You can see that they are trying to upgrade, but it’s still pretty run down overall—lights flickering, stained carpet. No breakfast and the coffee machine wasn’t working. Not sure if they might have better amenities and people around to help during the busier season. Fine for a night if you just need a place to sleep and then be on your way.

Quiet hotel, easy check in. Was disappointed that pool was not in working condition, should be explained at the website. Common areas inside are spacious and inviting to relax, read a book.

Murky water in pool made it unusable. Comfy bed and room was clean. Building needs some updating but overall it was okay.

Is it being flipped??

Strangest stay I have ever had. Upon arrival the building looked closed, and there were ladders and construction equipment in one of the entrances. Everything was done online. I walked into the other entrance and there was no one around. There was a sign on wall stating which floor rooms were on and that’s it. Went to room, never saw any amenities-just the brown box that was our room. No photos on walls-nice comfortable bed but ratty carpet, old furniture and bathroom was mostly redone but then ratty old scratched up mirror. It looked like it was in the middle of being flipped. Did not look like the pictures. Never saw/spoke with any employee during our visit. Grateful it was only one night.

Comfortable room and bed, nice lounge areas. Only issue was not being able to control room temperature, very hot!

This listing is a scam

Never got a room because the hotel is under renovation. My reservation was confirmed, but they required an online check-in claiming convenience and ease. After the completion of this check-in the room number and door lock code would be issued. This is a total scam. The on-line check-in required complete credit card info plus pictures of yourself and a photo ID. Needless to say that didn’t happen, but I was constantly sent text messages requesting that I complete this procedure. The exterior of the hotel was being paired by several workers when I arrived. The parking lot was empty and the reception office doors were all locked. Fortunately I was able to find other accommodations nearby. Hopefully I can get my money back.

Not what it looks like in the pictures

The room was nothing like it showed in the posting. It was dark and dingy, when in the photos it looks very modern and bright. Bathroom was very small, very outdated unlike the pictures. There is no one to really help you as there’s not really a front desk. I left my phone in the room after we checked out, my phone had the code to the room on it so I didn’t remember it. Obviously it’s my fault I left it in the room but I couldn’t find a single person that works there to help open the door. It was a miracle that my boyfriend remembered the code, so we were able to get in, but still very frustrating. When in the bathroom you could hear the people next to you talking. Very uncomfortable. It felt almost like the beginning of a horror movie. Overall, it is false advertising. I don’t recommend.

When I arrived, I was extremely disappointed that the pool, as advertised, was a gross green color. The hallways were musty-smelling. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

6/10 Good

Expedia (or the property) misrepresented the distance from Manchester, stating it's 16.2 miles when it was actually 33 miles, many of which are winding mountain roads and even a stretch of gravel road. The overall property felt very tired. The absence of any staff is disconcerting. Fortunately, there were other guests.
