Capitalizing on our Carelessness
If it wasn't for events right after we left, I would have given this hotel a 4 star rating.
As most people know, it's never a good idea to leave valuables or money lying around in a hotel room. I mistakenly left my husband's wallet and $140 in the room when we checked out.
I received a call about 30 minutes later (on our drive home) that the housekeeper found my husband's wallet, but there was no mention of the money.
Another lady (I assumed the manager) questioned the housekeeper, who said she didn't see any money. Obviously, the housekeeper pocketed it, and I understand that it was a she said/she said situation. Still doesn't make it right. Our carelessness should not lead to theft.
Also, another lady, a front desk clerk, said she would mail my husband's wallet; however, she didn't get a receipt, reference #, or tracking # to ensure that she actually mailed it. It is almost a week later, and we haven't received it.
The hotel just told us to call UPS ourselves. Not reassuring.
This was our 2nd time staying here, but we will not be back.
