This budget apartment is in a great neighbourhood, but has a few problems that the owners need to sort out. On the positive side, the location is fantastic - right opposite the Pitti Palace and just 5 minutes walk from the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. The apartment has a living room, bedroom, and tiny kitchen. The bed is comfortable, the rooms reasonably clean, the air conditioning is excellent, and there is fast wifi. The negatives begin with the owners charging an additional €60 for cleaning on top of the rental. This means that, although the apartment may initially look cheaper than others that do not charge seperately for cleaning, it may in fact be more expensive - so do check carefully before booking. The poor quality of the plumbing and electical wiring is also an issue. There was a strong smell of damp from under the sink, probably because of a leaking pipe, the shower doesn't drain properly because of a blocked pipe, and the badly installed shower means you can only stand under it if you are 5'8" (1.7 m) or shorter. The main light in the bedroom failed on the day that we arrived and, because it is wired into the lighting circuit, the washing machine trips the circuit breaker when you turn it on, plunging the apartment into darkness. On balance, the location and space makes this a reasonable choice if you don't mind the damp smell and don't plan to wash any clothes, but if you are looking for something a bit more upscale, this may not be the place for you.
