Cozy comfortable stay
We were very pleasantly surprised with our stay at the Red Lion. We were in a family room which was large. The bathroom was big too. Bed linen and towels were excellent. There was plenty of tea and coffee in the room. We had dinner in the evening and the food was really good. The staff were all very friendly and the atmosphere in the pub was so comfortable. We really cannot fault anything. There was plenty of car parking space. Value for money this stay was amazing. We would return for certain if we needed to stay in this area. Only 10 minutes off the M6.

Clean, comfortable and Friendly Staff
Really enjoyed staying here so much that we have booked again for November and February. The rooms are clean and tidy and the beds are comfortable. The staff in the pub are so friendly it was a pleasure to sit and chat with them whilst having a drink. The housekeepers are especially polite and happy to help with anything you may need. Would recommend this place.

Good parking - clean rooms - friendly bar
Nice clean room. Good atmosphere in the bar with friendly staff. No issues with noise even though it’s a pub close to a half busy road. Lots of car parking spaces.

A busy organised lively Marston pub for a two night stay Room was good but no housekeeping took place. Breakfast was pretty average but good evening menu compensated.

Great place to vist
Had a good stay, the hotel was perfect for our needs. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and attentive.Food was great, especially the breakfast. Located in a lovely village. However during our 4 night stay and having placed the ready to clean sign on the door when leaving each day, our room wasn’t freshened up. No clean towels or replenishment of tea and coffee facilities. Overall enjoyed stay and would definitely return

High standard of accomodation in a quiet rural setting and good access to surrounding larger towns. Within walking distance of several other pubs. Highly reccomended and good value for money

Great Place
This place is a great find. The oldie worldly pub with great accommodation. The room we had was huge (number 4); very comfortable and all services needed. The staff are the best asset of the place; friendly, welcoming and attentive. Plenty of parking on site, very close to the rooms. We have stayed in several places in the Ormskirk area but none compare to this place. Well done all and keep doing what you are doing. See you when next in area.

Overnight stay
Stayed here for one night,as picking my daughter up from uni for summer and we live 4 hours away. We have stayed here over a year ago and since then the rooms have had an upgrade with new bathrooms and furniture They are lovely and cosy and really clean. Fabulous improvement. Staff are so friendly and the it’s a lovely, warm and welcoming pub. Had food here and it was beautiful. No complaints at all.
Donna, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Overall very clean property, staff were set to help as I walked in . However, the room was cold because the doors face a garden I believe and sadly there was a tiny space in between it that air was coming through if ... I wish the gap could have been closed. The rooms are not noise cancelling too, because I heated all night long someone snoring, bless them ... and I had an exam the following day, luckily , I passed the exam.
