4/10 Poor

I blame Expedia for not describing this hotel correctly. We were told by locals it was a motel not a hotel. We were misguided by Expedia. Thank God the staff was fantastic.

10/10 Excellent

My stay at Ocean View was an unforgettable experience, made truly special by the administration, a lovely and kind couple (Edgar and Yulissa) who run the hotel with genuine warmth and attentiveness. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel right at home and were even given a choice of rooms. Throughout our visit, they went out of their way to check on us daily, offering friendly conversation and making sure all our needs were met. Their kindness and hospitality were so exceptional that by the time we left, we didn't just feel like we were leaving a hotel, but like we were saying goodbye to family. The views from the hotel are simply spectacular. The panoramic scenery, including a clear vantage point of Coxen Hole and the cruise ship port, provided a beautiful backdrop to our mornings and evenings. The food at the hotel restaurant was always delicious (with beautiful views from the restaurant as well). We especially enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, with the traditional "tipico" breakfast being a particular highlight. It was the perfect way to start each day in paradise. If you're looking for a place that combines stunning views, delicious food, and a truly heartfelt welcome, Ocean View Hotel and Restaurant is the perfect choice! Will definitely be back.

The property is in a management change so the restaurant wasn’t open but I will say Eric (who the new management). Was fantastic and if you need a place close to the airport I wouldn’t hesitate to book.

2/10 Terrible

This has been one of the worst hotel stay experiences we’ve ever had. Arrived to find hotel with no one at the reception desk. The office was closed. No answers to phone calls. Finally found a guard who contacted a worker who eventually took us to an unclean room. Bed Cover and sheets had stains and we found several human hairs and micro dirt on the sheets. There were no towels, no Internet, no wifi, no TV, no curtains or even toilet paper. The hotel restaurant was also closed. The pool water was green and filthy. The Jaccuzi was empty and being used as a temporary trash dump. There were several construction ladders just outside our room door laying on the ground. Finally the owners arrived about an hour later. They said they had just purchased the hotel, it was under new management and they would have things operational the next day. They offered to move us to another room on the opposite side of the hotel. The new room appeared to be a bit cleaner and smelled better so we agreed to move. After giving us a room key, The owners then departed the hotel. To top things off, there was no hot water to take showers, we showered with semi cold water. There was a group of dogs barking constantly outside the room throughout the night which disturbed our sleep. This hotel needs to be removed from your Expedia. advertisement list. And we would like a refund.
Jaccuzi used as trash dump
Filthy swimming pool
No Toilet Paper
No Curtains, has to use a bed sheet for privacy

Ideal place for chilling

Ocean view was great for my arrival to Roatan. You can chill on the pool and the terrace with great views. My room was spacious and had amazing views too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even went to the pharmacy for me! Estefanía and her team are very nice and make you feel Very welcome. The food in the restaurant was good too.

The property was beautiful, but the staff and services were horrible!!
Steven, 3-night trip

4/10 Poor

The hotel used bleach in the pool, which will ruin your swimsuit and im not sure its okay to swim in bleach, pool still was dirty looking. Room was cleaned with bleach as well you could smell the chemicals and was not cleaned good. Hotel needs alot of love, its run down and way too expensive for what you get. Should be no more than $60 USD/night. Staff were nice.

You cannot walk because the hotel is on a hill. You can walk but it is very dangerous and slippery.

4/10 Poor

I was so disappointed to see the pool dirty all the time. I was there for a whole week. Then the selection of food was just so bad. Nothing new, almost everything I had had a hint of sugar, even beens. Order some Monkey La La it was just frozen milk with chocolate sirup, order a few other drinks the same. Oh and there is no phone in the rooms, and rooms are not cleaned often until you ask. Which at my arrival I found hair in the shower and dirty toilet and floors.
Cris, 6-night trip

2/10 Terrible

Horrible accommodation. Staff is very lazy, did not clean our room for couple days until we complained. I got food poisoning from eating the food at the restaurant and never ate there again. Food is not good. Rooms are old, not maintained, shower was broken. Overall it was such a horrible stay I will never stay here again. Please avoid if you can. Not worth the price.

10/10 Excellent

During our recent anniversary vacation, I had the pleasure of staying here with my partner! Ocean view had cozy and clean rooms. We enjoyed waking up to the sound of waves and friendly roosters. The ac was great (we were hesitant about humidity but everything worked out fine). The food was also a highlight of our vacation! Not only delicious but also beautifully presented AND with a view. The views from outside were also beautiful. It rained for maybe an hour during our stay but it was calm and serene as well. It took us 12 minutes driving to get to most touristy locations so it wasn’t bad at all! We enjoyed our time during the horseback riding. I didn’t think that would be possible! Next time we come I hope to see some sloths on the island. Thank you to Luis for making the booking and communication easy!
Tyler, 1-night trip

2/10 Terrible

This hotel was in a bad part of the island. It was in the middle of nowhere. There was broken glass in the pool area. The door to our room didn’t lock and there were gaps around it. The air conditioner didn’t cool the room. When we looked out the window we saw the neighbours laundry hanging out. Looking down you could see piles of trash around the building. The building itself is unsafe, the staircase up to the room was unstable. When we told them about the problems they called the police and kicked us out. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Jason, 8-night trip

4/10 Poor

Expedia lists that the hotel offers free shuttle to the beach and they tried to charge us. We purchased the all inclusive package and the menu was limited. When we arrived, they gave us a menu the first with a variety of sea food entrees and appetizers to then change it with different food and took off a lot of the sea food. We were limited to 2 drinks per meal and four cocktails per person per day. Almost everyday they ran out or they would forget an item on our plates. When ever we would order something the restaurant staff would have to go to admin for “approval” this was definitely not an all inclusive hotel, I had never experienced this in the past. It appeared as if they were unprepared to host an all-inclusive package. Booked an island tour through the hotel and we paid to be driven around by someone who didn’t even know the history of the island. The owner was nice but as soon as we brought up our concerns, he became rude. Aside from him the GM, housekeepers and waiters were very nice and helpful.
