Alternative stay at Minerva hotel
We booked the Relais storico hotel but then I was told that the hotel is closed because of the coronavirus measures. Therefore we were offered another room at Minerva hotel. This building was quite old and outdated in comparison to the Relais pictures. However, the room was comfortable and there was a nice garden.

Great location and very friendly check in with Marco. We booked an economy double room which was quite small but very clean. Basic breakfast but we were told we could eat as much as we desired. Hotel is in a very old building with no lift so might not suit less able.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, the location was in the centre of Pisa which meant it was quite noisy at night.

Warm and friendly
Located right on town centre near train station and leaning tower of Pisa. The check in was amazing and was given lots of information about area. Really helpful and cheerful reception. We had lots of bags and were helped get our bags to third floor room which was clean and pretty. My whole family enjoyed stay on this hotel and at town of Pisa. At the end of th bridge next to the hotel there is small family owned restaurant. Eat there for cheap but amazing pasta and wine.

Dream-like stay, amazing!
We had the couple's suite with the in-room jacuzzi--and it was better than I had imagined! Between the relaxation and enjoyment we had in the room and the spectacular continental breakfast, we couldn't be more pleased. It was like a slice of the high life!

Needs lots of work
Very good location, sheets and towels were clean; however the rest of the hotel, rooms, doors, stairs very unpleasant. No A/C, Lobby is on the second floor, so don't recommend handicap at all.

Great location in the centre of Pisa
A lovely historic building in the centre of Pisa giving a authentic Tuscan feel. We stayed in one of the Junior suites giving an extra room and sitting area. The decor is old but it is part of the character of the hotel and as it should be, with beautiful painted ceilings and original features. We had some difficulty getting the shower to work with the hot water, but the staff were helpful in explaining and checking it for us. There was noise from people in the street outside but mostly the use of ear plugs was enough to block it out but on the last night we were there the students and tourists all seemed to be out drinking until late and we were kept awake for a while. We found the central location very convenient, as we were right in the city close to shops, restaurants and bars and also close to the river for evening walks. The leaning tower and field of miracles were easily reached on foot and we were close to the station and went by train to Florence and Lucca- we would recommend both of these visits. There was a good choice of hot and cold food for breakfast, including bread, jams, cold meats, croissants, cereal, boiled eggs, yogurts and cake with coffee and fruit juice. There was also an area where you could sit at other times to have a drink (we had the area in our room to sit so didn't use it). The room had a kettle, hairdryer and minibar/fridge & safe.Ve Overall we were very happy with our stay and would be happy to stay there again if we returned to Pisa

good central location with helpful staff
Great location - near station for day trips to Florence, Lucca, Siena and Cinque Terre - also within decent walking distance for Pisa landmarks and shops/restaurants Although the hotel had character, it was let down by teething issues with the bathroom where toilet did not work, hot water was not always available, shower was very small, door would scrape the floor. Bed was okay but mattress could do with replacing. Good choice of breakfast items All staff was very helpful so that made a lot of difference.

Nice city shame about the hotel
The good about the hotel was in relation to the train station but nothing else. Room 22 is horrible as the pictures will show. Breakfast is ok providing u get there early as things are not replaced. Shower did not work also asked for it 2 b looked at, after 4 days nothing had happened. All in all a shabby hotel that needs major works and one that hotels.com should not be promoting.

excellent central location, close to station
Pleasant staff, rooms and hotel have character. However, all comments read in reviews about noise due to location are true! You are likely to be woken by revellers returning home at any time of night - midnight to 5 am! Then the street cleaning machines come at 6 am, then the coffee shop opposite opens and puts metal tables out at 7.30 am!! Hotel room keeping inconsistent - we had family room for 4, but only 3 cups left and on another day only 2, and no coffee left after arrival; one day only 3 towels, no toiletries replenished after first day, toilet paper only replenished after third day - and if you went to reception it was often not staffed. Ear plugs(because of noise) provided by hotel (honestly!) but not replaced after first night, after which they resemble a piece of used chewing gum. Shower cubicle dirty, especially shower head, and is probably smallest in existence (mid-teenager struggled to get in and use). Breakfast provided at extra cost - only 5 euros, but first come first served so if it ran out - such as scrambled egg- it wasn't replaced for later-comers; was also not told of arrangement, availability, location or cost until second day when asked why we had not come for breakfast that morning. Watch out for 'City Tourist Tax' payable on checkout - even for children!

Please avoid this hotel
We had a terrible experience at this hotel. We were in a room that was extremely hot and there was no way of turning the heat down. We asked to move room but was told this was not possible. It was also extremely loud with pedestrians walking past screaming and shouting loudly. The windows are thin and this sounded very loud. I was unable to sleep due to the conditions. We paid on our first night which was a mistake as we requested our money back which was initially agreed but then the hotel refused. Hotels.com reassured me that I would be reimbursed however they have not done this as they are unable to get the money from the hotel.

We loved this hotel. Lovely shabby chic rooms with a good breakfast and friendly helpful staff. The location is also great. You can hear noise from the street late into the night but it did not spoil our sleep.

Worst Hotel, Ruined Whole Experience of Pisa
This hotel is a disgrace. It is dirty, damp and literally has mold on the ceiling. When we checked in, we were met by a nice man, who showed us our room and left us to it. When we saw the room we were shocked at the state of it. Dusty, dirty, dark with outdated switched and plugs. The bedding was dirty. The floor was dirty. We went to bed and got next to no sleep that night. The hotel is located on a very busy street, with drunk people shouting and continuous noise all night, including a man with a leaf blower going up and down the street from 6am onwards. We got up shortly after this as we had given up on all hope of sleep. We complained to reception and asked for a new room. We were told this was impossible as they were very busy (Note, we saw only two other groups of guests and were the only people at breakfast that day...) They told us to go have breakfast and they would see what they could do. Breakfast was disgusting. Raw eggs, sour milk, stale bread. When we came back to reception regarding the room, we were told that this was also impossible. When I then said we would be leaving the hotel the staff got hostile. I called hotels.com and cancelled. We were yelled at, insulted, rude gestured were made at us. NEVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL. Overall this experience of one night in this hotel nearly ruined the entire experience of Pisa for me and I would recommend that Hotels.com remove them from their site immediately.
