While I’ve had excellent experiences at other Royalton resorts, my stay at Royalton Chic Antigua was disappointing. Upon arrival, our assigned room had a strong mold smell. Despite booking a king-size bed, we were initially offered only a double-bed room as an alternative. After persistence, we were given a double-bed room for one night with a promise to switch to a king room the next day.
Service issues continued throughout our stay. Food service was extremely slow, and drink availability was inconsistent, with staff frequently saying, “unfortunately.” While the food was tasty for an all-inclusive resort, it didn’t make up for the poor overall experience.
Some problems might stem from the resort being newly opened, but as paying guests, that’s not an excuse. I can’t recommend staying here at this time. Perhaps with time, operations and staff performance will improve, but currently, it’s not worth the cost or frustration.
