i booked a deluxe king room, the room was very spacious although no window which made me feel a bit anxious, 2 skylight windows in roof, would of been nicer to have a couch or couple of comfortable chairs to relax on rather than having to sit on the bed, only a small area for hanging clothes and no drawers for items like tshirts and underwear..the mattress was springs so where others have sat it didnt make the best to sleep on! ..a big plant in the corner of the room took up a lot of space and in need of a good dust! ..there was an ironing board and iron and the bathroom was lovely with complimentaryshower gel soap and body cream..so much potential for the room..but overall ok. breakfast was ok, first day i had a cooked breakfast, it wasnt hot, just warm so a bit disappointing, 2nd day there was only us and another couple for breakfast and there was nothing out to help yourself to, cereal, yoghurt, coffee etc, so felt a bit restricted in choice.
overall a lovely pub, staff lovely good parking and lots of history to it.
