We stayed at Rocky Mountain Chalets over Easter and spent a few days on the mountain bike tracks. It was an excellent place to stay, super close to Ohakune town with easy access to excellent cafes and restaurants. I would recommend it ans a great place to stay at any time of year.

We were arriving late so a quick call to arrange late check in was easy. We stayed 3 nights in total with a 4 day trip away in between nights which was made so easy by the owner to allow us the same chalet for each night. Easy walk to town and we did drive some nights. We love it here! We’ve stayed before and we will return! Great set up in the chalets, perfect for us with 2 kids. Walking distance to the big carrot playground and into town for restaurants, bakery etc. 25 min up to Turoa and less than an hour to whakapapa. The chalets are easily heated, cosy and well maintained.
