Access to the hotel requires climbing down several flights of stairs that can be tricky for someone with lower extremity or balance problems and only has a railing part of the way down. A porter is supplied to carry luggage to the rooms. However, you are rewarded with incredible views of the caldera several hundred feet below. Our nicely appointed room was nice, with a sitting area and balcony. The only amenity was a small unheated hotel pool. We did not use the small dining room as breakfast would have been an additional 18 euros. The staff was helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent with easy access to restaurants and shops. We ate twice at the Vanilia Restaurant within a few yards of the hotel's staircase because the food was excellent and the wait staff engaging.
