My husband and I stayed one night at the lodge in Mammoth Cave, and it was a wonderful experience—especially since it was my first time staying overnight in a national park. The accommodations are rustic but very comfortable. Our cottage had a private bathroom, a table and chair, a small refrigerator, and coffee-making supplies (perfect for a quiet morning), though there was no microwave.
The air conditioning worked well, which was great after a warm day of exploring. While breakfast isn't included, there's a restaurant on-site as well as a Starbucks, so food and coffee are easy to come by. The cottages are conveniently located close to the Visitor Center, making it easy to access tours and trails.
One of the highlights was seeing deer in the parking lot when it was quiet—such a peaceful moment. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting to immerse themselves in the park experience without sacrificing comfort.
