First of all, the positives:
* the location was excellent, in walking distance to the Louvre and to many other sites, and there are many Asian restaurants on the street that were absolutely delicious. We loved the neighborhood!
* our room was off the courtyard, and though the neighborhood street was very busy at night, our room was silent.
The negatives:
* communication by management. We did not receive any information about instructions to check in until a day before we were supposed to check in, despite our messaging them. The communication continued to be extremely weird and delayed. I actually think they were using AI to respond to our questions, as they would respond in the same nonsensical way without answering any of our questions. They often sent an attachment instead with canned instructions. Our concern is that they insisted on us putting $44.24 cash for city tax in a box, but they refused to acknowledge receipt while continuing to ask for it as if we had not paid it.
* physical issues. The stairs were extremely hard to manage, particularly with suitcases. Also, there is no light to switch on if you are going down, making it even more dangerous. The shower drain did not work well and flooded the bathroom. The fan over the bed did not work without the hallway light being on. No switch for kitchen light.
* no hand towel and no toilet power etc unless we tracked the housekeeper down and asked.
