I booked this riad a month in advance for a two-night stay. However, when we arrived, we were told that the riad was fully occupied, despite having a confirmed booking.
The lady who greeted us did not speak English and directed us to another riad nearby, Riad Baddi, which was around 5 walk away. Unfortunately, they also told us that they had no available rooms. We then returned to our original riad and waited for around 10 minutes before a gentleman arrived. He also did not speak English and took us back to Riad Baddi.
Although Riad Baddi eventually gave us a room, the air conditioning was not working and the toilet was faulty. The accommodation was not suitable, so we had no choice but to book another hotel at our own expense.
Overall, we wasted approximately two hours dealing with this situation, time that should have been spent enjoying our trip. It was extremely frustrating, especially considering that we had booked a month in advance. The lack of organisation, poor communication and failure to provide the accommodation we had reserved made this an unacceptable experience.
I would strongly recommend that the riad improve its booking management and communication with guests. A confirmed reservation should mean that a room is actually available and ready for the guest. We were left to sort out the problem ourselves and pay extra for alternative accommodation. I would not recommend staying here.
