“Bad college dorm with a great website.”
We’re hardworking parents who value good service and kept promises. This stay missed both.
TL;DR (for future guests)
No notice of closures: The flagship Dry Fly Saloon was closed for renovations—zero pre-arrival communication.
Sofa bed, no linens: Pullout for our 4-year-old had no sheets or pillowcases. Front desk insisted they were “in the closet,” then eventually found sheets—but no pillowcases and no housekeeping available at night.
Basics not stocked: Lobby coffee out by ~7:30am despite being told it would be available while the restaurant was closed.
Cleanliness red flags: Shower with mold in the corners and boot prints on the floor.
No room service after we were out all day.
Pool felt unsafe & unusable: Freezing room and water; an unblocked stairway to a storage area.
Front desk can’t (or won’t) help: Asked for a paper cup and a tea bag; told “housekeeping only after three days.” No cup, no tea.
4-star promise, 2-star reality.
The experience (short version)
Check-in was quick—but once we had a key, help vanished. We arrived to discover the on-site restaurant was closed (not listed anywhere in our pre-arrival info). Our kid’s pullout had no linens; the desk argued they were “there” until they weren’t. After a long search: sheets, yes; pillowcases, no; housekeeping unreachable. Morning coffee? Gone by 7:30am.
