Everything about this hotel was excellent! The service was outstanding, with helpful and friendly staff, and an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant, and the facilities fully lived up to our expectations.

Absolutely delightful small hotel - we were there by 1130 and could leave the bags which was a great help - impeccably clean, spacious room with little fridge, kettle, drinks and a coffee machine. Beautiful bathroom and two great friendly and helpful guys on the desk. Obrigada to them :) we also used the roof terrace twice, once on the sun loungers early evening and once under the parasol :) the room was at ground floor and there was no noise. Definitely a place to stay again if we are in Faro. Location is great with everything within 5 mins walking and some good restaurants/ cafes close by ( San Pedro fusion and A Venda ( good veggie options here) and we had a fancy 3 course 22 euro Italian business lunch at Mavala. A change after 5 days of seafood at Olhao!! We also went to the city beach and an uber was less than six tho we had a 25 mins wait for one to the airport at around 815 so build in time maybe. Enjoy your stay as we really loved the place :)

Upon arrival we were greeted with much care and enthusiasm. The hotel is in a great location. The best part of our stay was the genuine care and concern of the staff. The room is small, but the love is big. We will be back and we are so grateful for you all! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was very rejuvenating and serene. Well done to all! Muito Obrigado! Furthermore, I am not fluent in Portuguesa language, but my fiancé is. However, the gentleman who welcomed us upon our arrival, was kind enough to speak English when explaining the ins and outs of the property. He was so intentional to even say, it would be rude to speak Portuguesa since I do not understand completely. What an excellent time and interaction with all the staff at Solar Mendonça Boutique Hotel. When we are in Faro again we will be back. What a wonderful time we enjoyed. Book the trip enjoy the comfort and be blessed by all the details included! Umbrellas for good days at the praia and rainy days as well, in room safe, robe and slippers, a/c, tea and cafe, etc. etc. etc.

We chose the penthouse as we wanted a king bed and a fridge. The bed was larger than an English super king bed. Very spacious, exactly as seen online. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Great balcony. Rooms had double aspect.

Descanso em Faro

Estadia muito agradável num local suberbo. Perto do centro histórico e da marina, com vários restaurantes e bares por perto, este hotel é um lugar que recomendo. É de notar a simpatia do rececionista assim como a da menina da limpeza, sempre prestável. Edifício renovado, com ambiente familiar, contém espaços exteriores magníficos. Todos os fatores estão reunidos para momentos aprazíveis. Ideal para casais ou famílias.

Immaculate. Top quality bed linen toiletries. Everything was first class.Roof top balcony was amazing. Owner and wife were fantastic and reception guy couldn't do enough for us.Extra coffee .Anything you wanted was available. Great suggestions for food.All fantastic. Easy walk to marina and old town.Only minutes. Fantastic stay.

We had a great stay at Solar Mendoça, it is a wonderful hotel with equally as wonderful staff. The location is perfect and easy access from the train station (about a 10 min walk on level streets) also it’s very close to old town. It’s right near an astounding cathedral and near chapel of bones. It’s near everything! The room is super clean, decorated beautifully and very comfortable. There is also a small fridge and small coffee/tea station where they have provided nice tea selections (since I’m the tea drinker), husband said coffee was good too. Philipe & Vitalii were so kind, friendly and helpful. They gave us tips for places and restaurants to try but of course go explore, there’s so many charming and fun places to see. Faro was a lovely visit and we look forward to returning. Make your reservations here, it’s a top notch hotel we highly recommend! Thank you.

Très bien situé, tout Faro est accessible à pieds, pour le reste il y a les bus ou les ferry juste à côté. Très bon accueil (merci FIlipe), tout est propre. Le rooftop est sympa pour se poser ou même pour manger. En revanche comme c'est en ville avec des rues pavées c'est un peu bruyant la nuit, de plus les occultant des fenêtres ne sont pas suffisants, ça ne serait pas un souci s'il n'y avait pas l'éclairage urbain. Pour ceux qui ont besoin du noir pour dormir, ne pas oublier votre masque de nuit. Et à savoir les chambres en rez-de chaussée ont des vitres opaques + rideaux donc on ne profite de l'extérieur que sur le rooftop.

Hidden Gem

Beautifully designed and recently renovated small hotel in the centre of the old town. Forget the usual resort hotels, Solar Mendonca is at a whole different level. Period charm outside, ultra high tech inside. The owner is passionate about the building and that shows in the high specification and clever design. We had an apartment which was very well equipped. Perfect temperature control and sound proofing in every room when you want it, roof terrace or balcony if you don't. Restaurants, shops and Sunday farmer's market are right outside. Nice cold Vinho Verde in the apartment was the perfect welcome. Thank you to Helder and his team for superb stay. Fabuloso!
