6/10 Bueno

Getting to the island involved catching the dedicated boat anchored offshore. Prepare to get wet! The journey was over an hour but with great views of Koh Ta Kiev island and others.
We were welcomed by volunteers and Giovanni gave us a brief on arrival. We were shown to our accommodation which was just off the beach.
The hut was on stilts and featured fairly comfortable beds with much needed mosquito nets, a balcony facing the sea, and complementary water.
The activities on offer were varied and interesting, but some were not available when we were there. Loved the yoga rooms, art room and the library. The beach is long and deserted, and if you litter-pick your way along it entitles you to a free drink!
There is only one boat a day to and from Kactus so it's remote but has intermittent wi-fi. The bathroom/toilet was shared but could have done with a better lock on the door!
No hot showers but not much of a problem. It's a rustic experience so don't expect luxury.
Fabulous sunsets in store, but also possible food poisoning if you're unlucky. No medical facilities so bring supplies. Be prepared to make friends or enjoy the solitude - whatever floats your boat!
