Budget hotel not for business travelers

The phone lines were not working and I had to schedule meetings but I couldn't do it. There is a new rule according to which non Saudi residents can't get a new SIM card/a connection. So mobile was out of questions. Although they tried to a lot to fix it but I had to relatedly tell everyone he entire story again and again the entire day as shifts changed. The location is good there is supermarket right opposite the street behind the street there are many good Indian, Pakistani and other restaurants. The hotel in itself looked gloomy, though will lit inside the rooms (something which is difficult to find these days). They at the end have me an option to change the room but then miraculously the phone on my room started to work. Limited options for breakfast and you'll see just 2/3 people in the entire hotel. But if you look at the positive side there will 0 distractions.

I have stayed at the Rand many times, previously called the Coral. Solid common spaces, rooms on par for pricing and breakfast is adequate for a hotel of these level. The only disappointment over the years has been the garbage smell in the lower level pool and gym area. Needs to be better vented as it is a serious negative.

Bad staff, AVOID BREAKFAST

The hotel reception staff are not welcoming the guests. They are silent and not friendly. Every time we go through the front desk - they do not even look at us, leave alone smile or talk to us. The breakfast is just terrible. The pastry are all old and not good. The live counter is removed much early than 10 am. The Bangladeshi waiters are rude and not at all helpful to us during breakfast. Except for the location of the hotel everything about this place is BAD.

Hotel with smoking smell and low water pressure.

I stayed for 5 days under smoking smell. It is 3-floor hotel. And you will smell it when you open a door or window. And tap water came out drop by drop. If you are non-smoker and shower-lover this hotel may not be yours.
