Beautifully restored - heritage exterior with mod cons suite. Staff were attentive & very obliging. You get what you pay for with this boutique hotel The hotel gets the big things right. There were a few things that could be improved: • The hotel has a 24-hour front desk & advised us to leave the room key with them when we go out. However, on our return, the front desk wasn’t manned. We had to wait some 10 minutes before a staff member appeared. A simple bell or alert system when a guest is waiting at the front desk would solve the problem • The tea cups in the room were chipped, so was the marble top of the breakfast table

This is a superb hotel in a great location. The rooms and public areas are so beautiful with a wonderful feel for the rich history of the architecture starting from the famous Blue Mansion built in the 1880s. The large, very elegant rooms of the Qing Suites across the road from the main hotel (we’re staying there by choice) have been newly renovated, complete with lovely shuttered windows, great air con, espresso coffee, huge luxurious towels and the most comfortable bed imaginable. And super peaceful. The staff are friendly and discrete and can’t do enough … amazing breakfast, and all connected to the Blue Mansion across the road,

The stay at The Blue Mansion Qing Suites is definitely the highlight of my Penang trip. The hotel is stunning and modern and you can just cross the street to visit the original Blue Mansion, whose rooms are too classic for my taste. Highly recommended!!!

The first thing you have to know: the staff is EXCEPTIONAL. From the manager, Miss Anna Yoon, to the servers and bartenders, to the security, the staff is arguably the kindest and most capable I have ever come across. They work so hard and make it look effortless (it’s NOT!) and they make you feel like family. The second thing: the property is beautiful. This was perhaps the nicest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. The suites are stunning and comfortable and have everything you need. From big details, like a gorgeous tub, to small details, like including a yoga mat and pool bag for you, they have thought of everything. I would move into that suite if I could. A word of warning, the mattress is VERY firm, which caused me back pain, but my partner was fine with it. Just be aware if you have spinal pain like me. The bedding was beyond comfortable, though. The spa was wonderful! Amazing and capable staff. They were able to pivot in their appointments to accommodate my pain and were really kind about it, especially given my embarrassment. Highly recommend getting as many treatments as possible! Finally, the food. We loved the free breakfast. The fruits were delicious, the baked goods were lovely. But the duck soup. That will live rent free in my mind. I LOVE the duck soup. We are so grateful for our stay. Cannot wait to return.
