4/10 Regular

During our two-week+ trip to the Philippines, we stayed at 8 different accommodations across Manila, Palawan, and Boracay. This property was by far the most expensive—and unfortunately, the only one where we experienced significant problems.
With the exception of our first night, we did not have access to hot water during our stay. Additionally, for much of our time there, the power was out. While we understand that some of these issues may have been beyond their control, returning from long days at the beach to no electricity and no hot water—and on some occasions, no water AT ALL—was understandably challenging. On top of that, there is a serious security and guest safety issue.
One evening, we returned to the property to find there was no electricity (again). Due to the darkness, we accidentally locked ourselves out of our room. With no electricity, there was no Wi-Fi or mobile service, and the staff members were nowhere to be found. As a result, we were left sitting outside in the dark for an extended period, being bitten by mosquitoes, with no way to contact anyone for assistance.
Eventually, a neighboring guest discovered a spare room key left in one of the front unlocked drawers (yikes) and was kind enough to let us back into our room.
We attempted to reach out to the owner, at his request, to discuss all these matters but were met with silence. The place really has potential, but for now, save your money. You are better off booking somewhere closer to the water.
