Fantastic views, team and food.

Absolutely fantastic stay. Comfy (cosy) room with a team that couldn’t be more helpful. Lovely food for dinner… amazing breakfasts… and great range of beers. Absolutely stunning views from the restaurant and outside over the hillside. Highly recommend!

Stunning Setting with Amazing Views

Stayed overnight to break a longer trip and enjoyed it. Good food and friendly staff. View from the hotel bar and restaurant is stunning. Room was small, but had everything we needed and was good value for money.

Panoramic views

A very enjoyable stay in the most amazing surroundings, with a panoramic views. Our room, 3, was small but spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, although I would definitely book a room with a view next time, if available. Excellent breakfast and service, sitting in the window enjoying the view.

Great stay

We stayed in room 1.The view was amazing and the room was cosy and very clean with nice ensuite. The breakfast was great with super service and very friendly staff everywhere. We had an evening meal which was very nice and good value. The surrounding area was beautiful and great for walking. Bakewell was nearby and a lovely little town. We ate at the Waterford but would have been happy to eat at the hotel. The other guests were also friendly

Hotel with a view.

We arrived earlier than our check in time, but this wasn't a problem, we had immediate access to our room. The room was on the small side, but as we didn't have full size suitcases it didn't matter. The 5* award is for being able to sit outside on a sunny evening, with a pint just looking at the stunning view, priceless. Dinner was good but a bit 'chips with everything'. All the staff we had dealings with were friendly and helpful. There are several walks available straight out of the hotel, the Lathkil dale riverside walk is fabulous. We would definitely stay there again.

We'll return soon

We had a great stay here for 2 nights. It's very well located for days out walking and returning for a food meal! Staff are lovely and welcoming, room was very clean and tidy too. Good was a very good standard and choice, one criticism would be on the portion size of the starters, compared to the cost they're small. Mains were ample though! We would happily return for another weekend in the Peaks.
Michael, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Spotless bedroom, good quality textiles in room. Comfortable. Friendly staff. Stunning views from. Bar and dining room. Food was good particularly the breakfast- cooked to perfection. However room was tiny and no view with no blind so that passing people could look in. Public areas rather shabby. Felt it was overpriced for the services received.

We loved the hotel as it was in a remote area, away from the hussle and bustle of city life- it was like stepping back in time. The views from the hotel are amazing Hotel was clean, the staff were welcoming and very accomadatinhg, and went out their way to help you. We will definateky be back, hopefully in the summer to explore more. The only downside, the sat nav didnt pick uo the property and took us on a scenic detour, which is ok but not when its pitch black in December. What shoukd have taken us an hr took us over 2 hrs to reach the hotel. Apparently this is common

Beautiful place, worth a visit.

The Lathkill, what a lovely place. The views to the front of the hotel are awesome. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was great (we only had breakfast so can’t comment on any other meals. Our room was to the back of the hotel so we didn’t benefit from the lovely view. It was clean, an ok size. The room needed a net or blind on the window as the car park was right outside (this is the only downfall really). Oh, watch out for the extra step at the top of the stairs…..it may catch you out!! We went for a walk (the weather was exceptional) and it was beautiful. Down to the river which is very picturesque! Thanks to all the staff….we may see you again!!

We booked a room with a view which was lovely to wake up to. The room was small but clean and had plenty of tea/coffee and milk for our stay. We stayed on a Monday night when the bar and restaurant were closed but this meant we had a very quiet night and a good nights sleep on a very comfortable bed. The breakfast choice and service was fantastic and set us up for the day.

Gorgeous views from the breakfast room! Highly customizable breakfast, take your pick from any of the usual items in an English breakfast. Comfortable rooms with a smart TV. Plenty of parking. Small charming village in the Peak District. Highly recommended!
