Lovely, helpful staff and very accommodating. The rooms were a good size with very nice bathrooms and the hotel itself, although a little tired on the outside, was quiet and comfortable.
Dinner was a little disappointing, Chicken liver parfait was delicious and a big portion, but prawns were a much smaller portion than anticipated. Pork belly was overcooked and tough, and the Sea Trout needed more seasoning and some kind of potato to mop up the sauce. Sadly we had to leave the Rhubarb mousse as it was inedible ...too much gelatine made it rubbery and tasteless and the shocking pink food coloring was just too much.
That having been said, the staff were happy to remove those from our bill.
Breakfast was also plentiful but the wggs were undercooked and the bacon was overcooked so much that I cracked a tooth, and the hollandaise served was like no hollandaise we had ever tried before. It wasnt great.
In Summary, the rooms are quiet, clean and comfy and the staff are lovely, it was just the food that we were disappointed with.
