Fabulous, comfortable, fuss free spot
A great little abode in a peaceful area to base yourself at to explore Positano. Some lovely restaurants nearby. Angelo is lovely and friendly and it’s an easy bus ride down to the bustle of Positano for day trips to Capri, swimming or lunch at Da Adolfo from the port. Bathroom was huge and room was spacious with stunning views of the water. Highly recommend.

This B&B had a spectacular view over Positano. We stayed in the one bedroom suite with a terrace where we’d have our breakfast. Our host Angelo was just the right amount of attentive. He was there when you needed him and was very accommodating but he didn’t hover. There is a great view from the terrace, the living room and the bedroom. Being there made us feel like locals near other families that lived and worked their properties. You could hear roosters in the morning but the room is sound proof enough where they don’t bother you. The only thing is you have to climb 230 steep steps to get their so we had our work out each time we arrived back to our room and it was worth it. We met other couples who had to climb 400 and 600 steps to get to their B&Bs. I guess that’s what you get when you stay in a cliff side city. The shower is modern capsule like with good water pressure the only thing is that it was a bit snug for my 6’3 bf.
It’s a 20 minute walk to the Path of Gods which is a beautiful scenic trail. You can drive (if you’re ok w driving in very narrow windy streets) or take the bus down to Positano. The bus stop is just below the B&B. We also took a boat ride to Capri for a few hours which is all you need in Capri. We did a day trip to Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius which were about an hour away.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

Great!!
Pros: Amazing views, best I've ever seen! Super-friendly and helpful hosts! Delicious breakfast and dinners! Very clean!! There are also two good restaurants some 100 meters down the road, one of which is a famous meat restaurant, and another couple of restaurants some 800 meters down the road along with a supermarket. We had the grandma-cooked meal one night on the balcony, very nice!
Cons: Just make you sure you can hike the steps up, takes about 5 minutes, not bad at all really. The local bus into town runs once per hour and gets very crowded during tourist season, and takes about 30-40 minutes.
Overall, terrific place, I'd definitely come and stay again!

We had the most amazing stay in this B&B. The owners are so friendly and helpful and the view was breathtaking. The fact that it is a bit further from the centre of Positano makes it even more magical!

Perfect view from Montepertuso
The view is just as good - if not better than in the photo! The staff were so friendly and helpful, and there are two excellent restaurants with spectacular views just a short 3 minute walk from the B&B. There are also another two restaurants that get great reviews just further down the road (though we didn't try those).

The best of the best
I have been lucky enough to stay in a lot of beuatiful places, but this stay was unbeatable because of the family who lives there. Angelo is the best, so kind and helpful. He had cold water waiting for us at the top of the stairs when we arrived. Melania provided warm croissants with chocolate, fresh cappuccinos, juices and fruits and jellies from their garden for breakfast on our terrace the first morning. It was like a dream! Angelo told us about a great beach and some nice restaurants nearby. For our second day, we wanted to leave super early for a hike so I thought we would have to miss out on breakfast but Angelo insisted on bringing it for us at 7 am! When we would come or go we got to see two pups who lived there, it made being away from our pups a little easier. That evening we asked to have dinner in our room and it was so wonderful, bruchetta, homemade cannelloni, chocolate lava cake and organic wine all with our perfect view of the sunset. I got bit by a mosquito while taking pictures on the terrace and Angelo was there two minutes later with bug spray. I was stressed out because I booked our train back to Milan way earlier than any public transportation could get us to Naples. Of course however because of Angelo at 7:30 the next morning we had full bellies and a Mercedes waiting to drive us all the way to Naples to catch our train. Angelo, you and your family are amazing and we won't forget your kindness.

Seeing is believing
We spent 3 days at Mamma Rosa's and really enjoyed all that it had to offer. The 200 steps can be a problem to some, or it can inspire you to greater heights and in our case, provided a fitness regime which carried us through to the reminder of our holiday. The views are beautiful, the rooms neat and tasteful and the hosts are superb offering the best advice on how to enjoy the region. Whilst you are not in the heart of Positano, rather in the mountainside, there is a bus that can take you into town, a 15 minute trip. We would recommend staying here only if you do not have fitness issues. The accommodation is otherwise a lovely and we look forward to staying here again. Walter, Nancy & Sofia

Beautiful Montepertuso
We loved staying at Mama Rosa, the place is beautiful, the view beautiful and it is nice and quiet compared to actually being in Positano town but still with fantastic restaurants and an authentic local atmosphere. We would highly recommend this place!

Amazing B&B
My husband and I spent 3 nights here for our honeymoon and could not have asked for anywhere better. Mamma Rosa's is an amazing B&B which sits high overlooking positano with a breathtaking view. The 200+stairs are well worth it!
Beautiful daily breakfast, amazing hospitality and clean, spacious, comfortable rooms with a balcony overlooking the town where you can enjoy a well earned wine in the afternoon.
Mamma Rosa's is definately worth staying at!

Amazing place
The family who runs the place is very friendly and helpful. Place is very clean, everything works perfectly. The most amazing thing is the view over the Amalfi coast! It is is probably the best in the area and the 2 rooms of the residence both have egually same. You have to walk long stairs to get there, but it is worth it.
We recommend defenedly!

just delightful family run
on a cold rainy nite they offered us homemade organic wine and pizza made from ingredients from their garden. spotless with lots of space and incredible Amalfi views. there are over 200 stairs from road to the home, so you must be fit to stay here. nervous at first about distance to town, but an hourly €1.40 bus ride drops you in heart of town.

Best B&B we have ever stayed at.
Angelo and Melanie go out of their way to make your stay at B&B Mamma Rosa's special.
They are very helpful in arranging tours, or giving information about the area. They make a delicious breakfast every morning. We stayed here with our family in the other room, so we had the place to ourselves, plenty of room to hang out in the living room, and play cards at night. We all felt right at home!! I recommend having them cook dinner for you, it's delicious and organic from their gardens!!
We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute. The 200 steps up to the B&B were not a problem as Angelo and his dad helped with our heavy luggage without any fuss. Our room (like all the rooms) had the most spectacular view and breakfast was incredible- freshly baked croissants and muffins as well as yoghurt, toast with homemade preserves, fruit and coffee. So much care and attention is given to every aspect of the B&B and we would go back in a heartbeat.
Getting to and from Positano was fairly easy as there is a bus stop at the bottom of the steps that goes straight into town every hour or so and takes about 20 minutes, although we generally walked down and then caught the bus back up. The location is also perfect for walking the Path of the Gods (also highly recommended).

Awesome place
Awesome b&b. Hosts were lovely and helpful, place was pretty and the views from the balcony were amazing. I thought it was great to be outside of Positano as it was way less touristy yet it was easy to bus down there when we wanted. The thing to keep in mind is that it is about 200 steps up to the house from the road but we didn't mind this at all (Positano = steps, and this keeps it a bit of a hidden gem). Book it. :-)
