My dad and I really enjoyed our stay at The Boot and Shoe! Our room was clean and cozy, the beds were comfortable, and it was great for our stay. My dad loved having the bar downstairs where he could talk to everyone and make friends. The kitchen wasn’t open for dinner while we were there but the full English breakfast the next morning was delicious! The new manager and his son did a great job and made our stay even better. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Sadly was disappointed with overall quality of decor . It was a 'refurbished ' room and did have a new carpet but every thing mismatched and shabby. Mould in bathroom. Chipped tiles . Hooks on wall for non existent pictures. The stair case to bedroom was dirty. Everwhere needed a coat of paint. The old woodchip paper all marked and all skirtings grubby and worn.We decided not to stay. We had planned on dining but learnt that food service had finished when we arrived at 4pm. The staff were lovely and i could not fault them. They were very pleasant and understanding. Sadly does not warrant the star rating at all. Despite ot staying we enjoyed the beer garden and live bznd on whuch was our reason for visiting.

Stayed only for 1 night with my 16 year old, as was passing through Lake District and the hospitality was amazing. All the staff was smiling and helpful. Breakfast was scrumptious. Would definitely stay sgsin.

They’re always really friendly. I first stayed here in 2009. I was running late, called ahead and they were kind enough to make me a meal ahead of arriving and warmed it up for me when I got there.

Brief stop on our way home.

We were passing through on our way home from Scotland. The pub was great, had a wonderful and spacious outside area with covered and open seating. They were very accommodating of our dog. Had a great meal in the evening, and an equally good breakfast before getting back on the road. The area was beautiful and wish we had more time to roam.
