Hotel situated in the Old Quarter which is a busy area with many shops and restaurants. Streets are narrow, many motorbikes so must be aware. Welcome to hotel is excellent. Staff were outside and taking my bags as I got out of taxi. I was offered tea while they dealt with checking in and checked my room and taking my bag. Was given a map and pointed out places of interest. Staff were always smiling and addressed me by name. Treated as a member of the family. The personal touch. The hotel is small but cosy and well decorated. Has style. I would highly recommend this hotel.

By far the friendliest staff and the most accommodating staff I’ve seen in a very long time. This hotel might not be a 5 star but the staff gives you 5 star treatment. If I had found this hotel in the beginning of my stay (a month in Vietnam) I would not stay anywhere else. Lucy and Tuan are the superstars at that location. I’ve never felt more welcomed at a hotel and this is the only hotel I never felt the need to take pictures of my luggage which I always do.

One of the nicest hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. The staff was extremely friendly from the beginning, they really take the extra step to make the customer feel welcome. I was greeted with smiles and polite atmosphere everyday! Hotel itself is in a good condition. Room was big enough, with a huge double bed (maybe the biggest I’ve ever slept in). Although the hotel is in a very busy area, I didn’t hear any voices from the streets. Breakfast was included, but it was nothing special. There are a lot of great cafes nearby aswell, so I chose to eat elsewhere. Overall a great experience, will definately stay again when in Hanoi!

Location is actually not bad, the price is quite reasonable, and it’s very convenient in the old town area — I booked the hotel to give it a try. I hope the hotel can make the following improvements: 1. The staff are generally very polite, considerate and attentive (especially the female colleagues), but some employees’ English is rather poor, which causes communication problems. Not only do they fail to understand guests’ needs, some of their ways of handling situations confuse or even anger customers. It may also be because they are really busy and not yet able to respond adequately to guests’ needs. 2. There are no chairs in the room, the space is very limited, and it differs somewhat from the photos. From the pictures I expected the room to have a window, but it turned out to be sealed and covered with curtains. 3. Several times there has not been enough hot water when showering, and on one occasion the shower drain was blocked, causing the bathroom to flood. 4. The hair dryer is not powerful enough; if it’s important to you, bring your own. 5. The front desk had originally promised to do a morning call at a certain time but ended up doing it 15 minutes late.

I have stayed in many hotels in the Old Quarter during my one-month trip in Vietnam, and Bonjour D'An Nam is by far the best hotel I have experienced. The breakfast is abundant, convenient, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. The room is comfortable, spacious, and quiet — exactly what I need for a good night’s sleep. One thing I wish they could improve is the availability of power outlets in the room; I struggled to charge my phone as there were no outlets near the bed. What truly makes this hotel stand out, however, is the staff. As I was traveling alone, Fiona was incredibly helpful in assisting me with all my questions and travel plans. She arranged my airport pick-up at 5 a.m., organized my one-day city tour (which was so much fun), and their recommendation for a Ha Long Bay cruise was exceptional — I genuinely enjoyed every part of it. When I checked in, Lucy was there to support me with all my requests. From recommending great places to eat, sharing practical tips to get around and make the most of Hanoi, to introducing me to the unique features of the area — I honestly felt like she could be my private tour guide. Trust me when I say, you will be treated like a king or queen by this service team. They go above and beyond to ensure you have the best possible journey in Hanoi. This is no longer just service — this is true hospitality. With a newly managed property like Bonjour, I honestly wonder if they have some kind of magic spell to deliver such an outstanding e
