Resort is situated at one of the most beautiful place and very peaceful location. Room was cleaned when we arrived for our 4 days of stay and we haven't had any room service afterwards at all. You have to beg them for fresh towels, Toiletries, water bottles etc.
We had nearly 8 towels and 20 water bottles (Many we bought it ourselves as we couldn't be bothered to wait for hours just to get water) in our room including coffee mugs etc which apparently they never replaced.
I had some breakfast in a room and left the leftovers outside for the housekeeping to take and it was there for over 48 hours on a display. Thank god I left it outside else my whole room would smell horrible which apparently corridor was due to leftovers.
Not only us but our friends in other rooms had same issues and once even they told them that they are running out of towels in entire resort
The Royal Castle is an amazing hotel with beautiful, eclectic modern interior decor. Swimming pool was beautiful with a water park next door for the kids. The beach area is also lovely, and the hotel grounds and garden landscaping were immaculately kept. Simply gorgeous. Our studio suite with pool view was amazingly spacious, so we were very pleased! The breakfasts and dinners (half board) were delicious. Plenty of options. We truly enjoyed our 2 nights there. Our only complaint was at check-in. Despite having our Hotels.com pre-paid reservation email in hand, the staff refused to check us in as they had no reservation for us. We waited in the lobby for 2-3 hours, and spoke with the manager. He shrugged his shoulders when I asked where is our room. He told us to call Hotels.com and find the reservation but we didnt have a local Bulgarian line. Blatant disregard and rudeness from the manager giving us the cold shoulder. Without them having my reservation they refused to check us in at all. We called the police about the situation as we pre paid our reservation and they wouldn't check us in. In fact we sat for hours in the lobby until they "found" our reservation nearly 3 hours later. Poor treatment and lack of customer service skills by management. The staff apologized but management needs further training on customer service.
