While there was a homeless shelter nearby, it didn't feel unsafe. There were frequent trains, but it is located near the port. Very close to downtown and maybe dining options as well as parks and museums. Not far from multiple hiking options, either! Don’t let the location on the outskirts of downtown deter you; we found it walkable to shops and restaurants and Anchorage market if you want to walk there. The place was spotless and ALL beds were super comfortable! Plus they had some firm and some squishy pillows which was great. Truly a hidden gem! We would stay again.
