We chose the Inn for the sunset view & were not disappointed. Staff was very friendly & accomodating. Walking distance to everything in the Village &to the beach for excellent sunrise view. Very clean & well kept, however it was October on the Currituck Sound & not unusual to have lots of flying gnats & bugs outside. They were pressure washing the decks & walkways when we left. Will definitely be back.

Very nice stay. Wooden stairs are a bit rickety but that’s our only mildly negative observation. Everyone on staff was very nice and helpful.

The check-in was no problem. We were put on the first floor and the room was decent. The continental breakfast was good. Enjoyed it . The only problem I had was the smell that would be there when I opened the front door. It smelled like sewage . The pier was behind the building and had old bubbly suds that sticked to the sides. Also the walls were very thin. As the first floor guest, I can hear the people above us; walking , and using the bathroom at night. For an off-season price, it should be cheaper but I may come back just to stay at the outer banks

Because the property is located near the bay, the room has poor sound insulation, and there is also a strong, unpleasant odor from the surrounding environment.

The lighting in the room was quite poor: ugly blue-toned lights. "King suite" was an overstatement: a single room with a bed and a pull-out couch. The worst part of our visit was that when we arrived at 7pm, no staff was there. They left a note on the counter with a phone number to call them. After calling, we waited 20 minutes for somebody to show up, re-run our credit card over a cell phone, and then give us a room key. They said that they didn't have our phone number to call us and sort this all out before they left.

The property is on the sound front, but guests are prohibited from fishing or smoking on the property's pier. There is no elevator, so lugging luggage over a age of ramps and stars is a must. Smoking is only permitted in the parking lot, which was rather distant. The sound front king bedroom offered a shared deck, offering no privacy. One of my least favorite experiences was watching a rat navigate one of the ramp's handrails, skillfully going from the second floor ramp down to the first floor. Lastly, one issue that was most disappointing, was not an issue the inn was responsible for. The water in the sound was very low, and the sea weeds were emitting a rancid odor. The smell seemed to linger around our front door, oddly.

Everything was excellent. Breakfast was good (the muffins were delicious). The room was spacious. The pool area looked very inviting. The swing at the end of the pier was most enjoyable to sit and watch the sun set. This was an exceptional place to stay. Wish we could have stayed longer.
