The property is located on top of a British Pub, so expect a lot of noise at night and very early in the morning as the garbage trucks get in very early. The property is very OLD and not well maintained; expect damaged walls, doors, closets, etc. The furniture is also very old and smells like dust (could not seat to watch tv). The āextra bedā is not really a bed...
For the price I paid, I definitely DO NOT waist your money! You can find many better alternatives!!
The cost for 4 nights was acceptable. But not for the accommodations when we got there. Wheelchair accessible was difficult. Not the entry but navigating the doorways and hallway were narrow. The kitchen was ok but needed a few more/different pans and utensils to use with them. Also instructions for the washer dryer. The whole area of the apartment was clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Though it stated 4 kings, there was one queen and 2 kings. The bathrooms, one is attached to a bedroom and has big jacuzzi and shower, sink, toilet bidet, no grab bar and not outlets. Lighting is bad over mirror. One other is attached to bedroom but needs outlets and a better grab bar. The third bathroom is in the hallway. Needs grab bar in shower and shower floor is very slick. Also unit was on ground floor which is street level and people walking by on sidewalk were easily heard. Lots of street noise. The best was location if you what to see changing of the guard and the palace.
We stayed in the 2-bedroom apartment and it was perfect for a family of 4. The apartment looked like it was recently updated. The area is close to everything and walkable to major attractions like Buckingham Palace,Piccadilly, and many places to eat or have a drink. I would highly recommend this place.
We had a wonderful experience at Mayfair House! The staff were so friendly, and we loved our apartment. It felt like the perfect combination of a private home rental experience with the amenities of a hotel. We hope to return soon.
The property was very clean. Our room had all we required for a great, comfortable stay. The location was excellent: lots of great restaurants nearby and easy to access the tube.
The property is advertised as a luxury aparthotel; it is anything but. The general condition of the suite we were in was pathetic.
The day we got in, the bathroom sink was not draining properly. The first time I reported the issue they told me it was user error - but it wasn't, the drain was blocked and filthy! They finally sent maintenance to fix the issue on our 3rd day in the apartment, but why wasn't it inspected and fixed after the last party checked out and before we checked in? A customer should NEVER find an issue like that immediately after checking in!
We were also told we'd have to buy things like sugar and laundry detergent for ourselves. I get it, it's an aparthotel, not a hotel, but for a stay of just a few days, especially given the price we are paying per night, a few more packets of sugar and a couple of laundry capsules will not break their budget and might actually justify a 5 star rating.
Another issue: the Wifi was not working for almost our entire stay there. While they acted surprised about it when I told them and later told me it was due to the local utility cutting through a cable, there are several recent reviews in the past 2 months complaining about the Wi-Fi not working, so I think you can put two and two together. I don't believe their claim that it was a utility issue.
For the price we paid, the conditions would already have warranted a had review, but the lack of candor on their part and lack of proper maintenance merits a 1 star review.
Great apartments, roomy and well appointed. No wifi for entire stay (4 nights). This was never communicated, only when asked about at reception was told it was not working, and it was not working for the entire stay. Being on a business trip this was really bad and had to tether from my phone for all colleagues who were also staying.
Having stayed in virtually all of Londonāe top hotels for business trips, Mayfair House was wonderful for a family trip. The staff are A , went above and beyond and genuinely cared for us, our visit. Accommodations were roomy, clean and full featured. It was a great balance of having a flat, with plenty of hotel services. I highly recommend, especially for family travel.
Our apartment was bright, clean and large. The daily housekeeping (except for Sunday when there is no housekeeping) did a good job. The staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful. The apartment is very quiet; while in the apartment, can't hear any noise from the restaurants or pubs on the street. The area has a small grocery store and a newsstand as well as the mentioned pubs and restaurants. The property has many size apartments to fit one's budget or number of people in one's group.
The Mayfair House has all the comforts of home. Full kitchen with coffeemaker, a gym and attentive staff. The location also couldn't be better with an awesome pub right next door.
