Room was clean and snug, was only one small lotion so share instead of 2 and do miss elemis, but Woww amazing stay as always and lovely walk round church and grounds of hotel, pub meal was amazing as always, staff helpful and nothing too much when asked, wi fi hit and miss in newer side but did not need it much, and love round the corner is designer outlet to prolong going home after checking out, spa is high standard just like hotel, always feels a luxury treat, and breakfast is tops too

6/10 Buena

Clean hotel but a bit well worn in places. There was a wedding on at the same time as we stayed but we barely heard any noise from it. There was a weird hum coming from the card reader for the electricity which might put off light sleepers (receptionist made a note to check it when we checked out). Good location for York and very close to the outlet store and park & ride.

The room was clean and comfortable, decor was a bit tired. Bathroom was in better shape, looked like it had been refurbished. Breakfast was lovely and the staff attentive. Food at the Fat Abbot was good. We also ate at the nearby Thai restaurant, which was excellent. Pool, Gym and Spa area were spacious and clean. All the staff were polite and cheerful, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return again.

It is a beautiul hotel in a georgeous setting. There is a lot of wedding traffice but that is to be expected. Unfortunately the spa was fully booked. So book your treatments well in advance

We only stayed the single night and we had a wonderful experience. Friendly check-in, breakfast was nice and the surroundings beautiful. One area to consider.. plugs! Especially by the bedside cabinets. I carry a CPAP and ended up having to move the bed next to the desk to get access!. Apart from that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely rooms. Helpful staff, fantastic spa. Only downside was breakfast. Most hot items were cold or luke warm.
