Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. This was a last minute booking because our plans changed. It is by far the most basic of hotels we've stayed at while in Japan for two weeks. On arrival, you are faced with about six steps up to the front door, and we had to carry our two large/heavy suitcases up to the door; easy enough for us, but may be a challenge for many folks. We had an absolutely tiny room with a double bed (slightly smaller than a queen). At 6 feet tall/220 lbs, with an athletic build, I struggled with the size of the room and bathroom size in particular (it was awkward to move without hitting something (towel rack/toilet paper holder/etc). My wife and I couldn't move around the room at the same time. Room was very dated, but clean. Morning breakfast was Japanese style, and was absolutely adequate with extremely friendly staff who clearly take pride in their work, and providing guests a positive interaction. Due to room size, I wouldn't have wanted to stay more than one night. But location was good, and made for an easy transfer to our main hotel for this stay which was right across the street.
