Awesome Stay

Awesome stay. So peaceful. Easy to find off the Route 6 to Motueka from Richmond so perfect if you are driving North West to Nelson and then onto Picton. Rabbit Island beach is at the end of the road.

Peaceful, private and out of the way. A lovely place to relax and recharge. Bring your own food and cook in the communal kitchen or lovely restaurants 10 minute drive away. Will definately book a return stay here.

Beautiful little cabin in a quiet and wonderfully maintained bit of land. Amazing dark sky view of the Milky Way. A perfect and relaxing stop. We wish we had spent more time there and if we ever make it back to NewZealand we will make a sure we stop over again.

This is a gorgeous place - stunningly beautiful location, and the huts are designed, built and furbished to an extremely high standard. The sauna with a view, and the outdoor bath (for nighttime stargazing, in our case) were both very special experiences. The shared kitchen.is generously equipped. The little reading caravan is fabulous. We love the whole vibe of this place, and will return if we can.

I was a bit anxious about the shared facilities when booking - but they are really nice. Went on the river walk and had a great swim. Yoga before breakfast in the sun. Choice.

Quiet and nice place to stay. We had an issue with a window screen in our place that let 100s of gnats in which was disgusting to deal with. Otherwise the place was quiet and scenic. Just a little more rustic than we had wanted.

A small cabin in a big valley surrounded by vineyards. The setup was lovely and we had a great night sleep. You did have to walk to the shared bathrooms which wasn't convenient, but if you want a regular hotel experience then go stay in a regular hotel. The surrounding area was very peaceful, and there were some nice walks and wineries nearby. We found some dead ants in our cabin, but once we cleared those out, we had no other issues

Lovely place to unwind

Beautiful peaceful setting, comfortable huts. Great amenities with shared kitchen, outdoor bath, and sauna. Had no interaction with hosts during my actual stay but everything was explained in compendium in room. Only issue I experienced was booking it specifically because it was pet friendly only to be told my dog was too big. Had to rework my trip plans, but still a very nice stay and I would certainly stay again.

Where do I start - these huts are so delightful. There are six - three with ensuite and three that use two shared bathrooms. However, the shared bathrooms are luxury and are in there own self contained huts as well - so not your usual "shared bathroom" experience. There is also a private outdoor bath - where you can relax, stare at the stars - plenty of hot water. The property also has a well equipped kitchen/dining area, outdoor BBQ/fire, lounge area. I loved my stay here - wish it was longer than just one night - there are beautiful little touches all around.

Unit was small but adequate, a bit pricey for what we got. Bread not replaced each day not spreads, TV does not work, internet unreliable. Could do with toilet paper holder, towels should have been replaced every couple of days or at least give us a area to replace ourselves we stayed 6, rubbish needed to be emptied or give us liners to remove ourselves each day.

What a wonderful property! We rented the one bedroom “hut” with a private bath. The little hut was adorable, very clean and nicely outfitted. The grounds were amazing, with a well stocked shared kitchen, cute little living area, washing machine and open air drying area and lots of rabbits too! Fellow residents were a wonderful bunch and we enjoyed meeting everyone. You can also rent ebikes on site and they gave us an amazing discount on really high quality bikes. There is a trail system connected to the property. A wonderful beach at Rabbit island is a twenty minute ride or a 10 minute drive away. This place would also be an incredible site for a wedding or a corporate retreat. (My understanding is that the main house is rentable too and there are big tents already set up on the property.) We are already plotting a return to our hut!

Rabbit island huts were amazing !!! Unique and simply beautiful. The rooms were lovely and kitchen and bathrooms were excellent anything we needed was there !! And the out door bath was lovely.... wonderful hosts who made us feel considered and cared for ... would absolutely stay again !!
