Hello. I wanted to provide some feedback about my trip this weekend and stay at Renaissance Montreal Downtown Hotel. On June 21, 2025 while trying to nap in my hotel room, the television automatically turned on and was extremely loud at around 430pm. I confirmed that this also happened to a friend who was staying at the property, and also woke him up. I'd like to suggest that housekeeping mute the volume on the TVs so this does not happen in the future. Following this, once I fell back asleep, a staff member knocked on my door DESPITE having the Do Not Disturb sign on my door handle. This was to inform me that the hotel would not have power that night from 12am to 6am and I was provided a glow stick.
Also, the room was extremely hot because of the power outage and disrupted my sleep, and my phone did not charge overnight.
I have never had to complain in the past about staying at a Marriott property in the past, but considering the poor service on this occasion, I would appreciate some sort of compensation.
