The bathroom door was splintered. The shower/tub's caulking was dirty and rough. There were weeds in all the cracks in the pavement and sidewalks. The TV remote didn't work properly. One nice surprise was that McGehee, AR was the site of a Japanese interment camp during WW II and they have a nice museum in the local train station.

I stay in Mc Gehee one or two nights a week on business. The motel is perfect for me. Clean room, comfortable king size bed, refrigerator with freezer. Big TV. It’s a great bargain!

Smelly room

Room was very stuffy and smelled awful. I bought air freshener for the bedroom area and a small space freshener for the bathroom which had dirt/dust build up on the baseboard. Bathroom tissue was 1 ply.

Quick overnight stay

First of all, options in McGehee are limited. Given that, this property was fine for a night. It is basic, but had a small frig with a freezer so that I could refreeze my ice packs and food items. I would stay here again.

The owners have done a good job of updating the look of this motel and the price was good. However, my dog was scared to go in the room, the baseboard tile under the sink was wonky (only an aesthetic concern), I couldn't get the TV to turn on and the bed was a tall bed (I'm short and therefore don't enjoy tall beds). I still gave them a good review though because who knows why my dog was scared, the tile didn't impact my comfort, and I didn't ask for assistance with the TV because I decided to just sleep.

Ok for low cost

The room was generally adequate for a low costotel. Walls are recently painted, room is large, bed was wide and comfortable, water was hot. Large refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. Heater worked. All is functional although outdated. Linen had some spots and holes but looked cleanly laundered. Exterior is a bit depressing as is the surrounding town. Grounds present sad grass and patches of broken bricks. Periodic loud noises and waves of industrial smells.

Check in was awkward and took longer than it should have. I had an uneasy feeling about staying there. Was glad it was only one night. It’s a very old motel that could use some elbow grease and upgrades. Heat didn’t work in our room. It kept flipping the breaker.

Very quiet. Decent size rooms. Largest issue the beds are extremely too high off the floor. They are higher than any bed ive come across. Not sure what purpose is.

Nice room, just be prepared.

This is an older hotel, but has definitely been upgraded. I actually stayed in this hotel 50 years ago. The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. Don’t let the outside scare you off- it looked like they are still working on the upgrades. There were several things I have come to expect in. Hotel room that this one didn’t have. We nicknamed it “The bare necessities hotel”. We got the Queen deluxe room and I guess that was because it did have a refrigerator and a microwave. The refrigerator was actually the biggest I’ve seen in a room and it had a separate freezer. The things it didn’t have that I had expected were a hairdryer, a clock, lamps, USB plugs, a light over the bathroom mirror, and tissues. I wouldn’t tell anyone not to stay here because of the lack of these things, just be prepared.
