Lovely clean bedroom with view from balcony overlooking the lido. Staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was nice but could have been warmer. Had a lovely stay and will definitely return.

The location and the grounds were great. The main hotel was really nice but the family part was a separate building that felt run down. The rooms felt like they'd had a quick clean rather than a proper clean.

Always a wonderful stay here in this gorgeous Georgian Hotel. Very happy to accept our mini dachshund who was able to sit with us at breakfast. Staff were friendly and hospitable as per usual. Always there for anything but not unobtrusive. My wife had a anti aging facial in the spa and felt incredibly relaxed afterwards. The Superior room was spacious and perfect for our 3 night stay. A special mention for the shower which was possibly the best I have had in the UK. Maybe its the waters in Matlock Bath. They do say they are rejuvenating.

Staff were very helpful. The hotel looked impressive as you walked in, but the rooms we were allocated in the annexe were very grotty on the outside, the rooms were reasonable inside. Breakfast was minimal and little selection on offer, and it wasn’t cheap. The thermal pool was great. The spa wasn’t. We sat in the hot tub as part of a package treatment, but we were in the rain as it wasn’t undercover. The massage was okayish itself though, but the facilities were minimal. Overall we made the best of it and enjoyed the break.

Room 9 Shower screen allows water to leak onto bathroom floor, we had to put towels on floor to mop up the water. No hair dryer in room. No toilet roll in bathroom. Had a nice stay, just a couple of issues with the room

The location was nice and the staff was friendly, but the rooms were dingy and in need of repair. The pool is only for 18 and up so that was a miscommunication that would have prompted us to stay elsewhere that been clear from the description.

It’s a cheap hotel so you can’t expect much. The staff do their best with limited means. Don’t eat at the restaurant- it’s all frozen meals and microwaves. The front desk are helpful and the waiting staff doing all they can for you. The swimming pool is just that so don’t get your hopes up.

The hotel is in a great location and could be fabulous. The pool looked fabulous although we did not use it. We had a balcony room and we loved the balcony. Though it could have been cleaner. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good. The problem was there were stains all over the carpet and furniture and it was really offputting. We ate in the restaurant. The waiter was nice but food was average. Wine was nice. Staff generally were nice, especially the bar staff. Thought our welcome was a bit perfunctory on reception and we put a please clean the room sign out only to ve told rooms were cleaned before eleven am. We got extra milks etc but the room was not serviced. This hotel could be fabulous but needs love and care to be so in my view. There is no attention to detail.

When i stayed the pool was being cleaned which they do once a month which was useful to know. The room i had was overlooking the pool which i found very relaxing The bar area is lovely and cozy the restaurant is very well set out and bright with lots of windows to let in the natural light during the day.

We love visiting this unique hotel. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The lido is spectacular. Our annexe room is spacious and has a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. The addition of a fridge in the room was very welcome.
