Our hope is that, until this property is renovated, (which we were assured was coming next year), anyone looking for a hotel with, “10/10” and/or “exceptional” rating should reconsider booking this hotel. If you are someone who expects a top rated hotel to include the following:
1. Someone to greet guests and help with luggage, (especially maneuvering pieces up the multiple stairs at the hotel’s entrance.
2. A room, that although clean, does not have a musty smell and older looking linens.
3. A refreshed and updated dining area, (cannot comment on the quality of the breakfast included in our room rate, as we did not stay long enough to partake of it).
4. A powder room, (off the dining room), with a good fitting door and handle that works, so a guest doesn’t have to loudly pound on the door, to alert staff they are stuck inside and need to be let out.
5. Valet parking or, a self-parking lot near by, not just “street parking” with NO available spaces, close to the hotel,
6. Great staff. Our time with staff was very limited, as we did not stay the night at the hotel) so, except for; the person at the reception desk upon our arrival, the person on staff when we left, (hours later) and, the very nice staff member who pushed open the ladies room door, for my wife, we did interact with anyone.
A positive to this hotel is its location and, believe once the much needed renovations and changes are made, it will truly earn the “exceptional” rating, it currently does not merit.
