You get what you pay for in a good way.
It was great. The place is good and the staff are very very friendly and accommodating. The only downside is that the rooms are infested with little cockroaches/bugs that needs to be given attention to. It would be great if they could do a total pest control clean up in the whole building and set roach traps or something. The bugs were little but it was very bothersome, I'd end up killing at least 3-4 tiny roaches before i go to bed.

We LOVED the focus on the environment and the eclectic decorations. Breakfast was good and so was the coffee. Only one person made us give a less than "excellent" rating. After seeing we were having 2 beers each in our room she tried to lecture me on "responsible drinking" and when I said I wasn't interested in a lecture she then tried to school me on proper garbage disposal. When I informed her that the night before we separated our paper and glass and plastic and compost garbage she finally had nothing to say. Such a shame she ruined an otherwise perfect stay. Her attitude was very hostile, staring me down angrily as I spoke. I have stayed here before but will perhaps miss this good responsible hotel in the future because of the insulting patronizing
behaviour of this one person.

Basic but good value
I needed a place to sleep for a short night before catching a flight. Elicon House is very basic, like a dormitory, but it was clean and a cheap place to sleep for a short night. I would stay here again given a similar situation.

Wont book there again
Did not expect that the hotel would be very very strict. Guess are not even allowed but just at the lounge area but the entrace door is kind of weired cause the conceirge have to press a button for you to enter. Not my kind of safety.

Its location is good right at the center of the city. A plus, the house is clean, but the staff is not that friendly, no affection , its a home relationship, nevermind attitude , for as long as you pay.
We transferred to their sister company in Gorordo Avenue and they only notified us on our Checknin day.
Disappointed considering that main reason why I chose Elicon is because it is accessible to our destination.

Decent place in the best location
I needed to be in the downtown area. Elicon was at the best location. It was also perfect since I was travelling on a budget. You get decent accommodation.

A hostel with an eco concience
Like so many places in the Philippines, could be improved so much with a lick of paint interesting place with great philosophy. All round good value if you just need to crash for a night. Good location for bus terminals and town centre.
Basic good hotel with decent priced rooms. Good food at the restaurant. I lost my phone while in Cebu and the staff was super friendly about it and helping a lot.
I stayed here in December 2016. This place is ok, serves its purpose. A few things i wasn't happy with; There is no hot water, at all. The room was a good size but not the cleanest, there were some roaches! My biggest issue was the eating area they have downstairs which is supposed to be a restaurant but it was hardly ever open and even when it was, the food wasn't great. This wouldn't be an issue if you could go and buy food from somewhere and sit downstairs and eat but bringing any food or drink onto the premises gets you a P2000 fine! And considering that wifi is only available at reception area (restaurant area), i thought they could have a been a little more compromising on this. So we had a few meals at the 7eleven because there are hardly any other restaurants around and we couldn't bring food back. The only good thing about this place was the staff, they were friendly enough.

no more for this hotel
no wifi in the room and room so plain. I just come to know hotel condition that they not allow to bring food and water to the room. Only water bought from hotel can bring to the room.
This is my first experience to have such bad policy and other hotel I stay do not have such policy. I understand not to bring food as making room smelling but food like bread, fruit and no smelling is not prohibit to other hotel and I don't bring strong smell as I care for smelling to the other who stay next to me.
The wifi is available at the lobby but no air condition. It is hot and noisy as near the road.
I can get better room/price/location than this hotel and I moved to that hotel on the next day.
