Disappointing stay, but wonderful staff
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t stay here again, although the staff were genuinely lovely.
I specifically booked this hotel because it advertised a café/bar and room service. I had a lot of work to do on arrival and wanted somewhere I could eat without going out. However, none of these were available apart from breakfast, despite room-service menus in the room. With a thunderstorm that evening, I ended up eating minibar snacks for dinner.
There were also several power cuts, leaving me without internet while working. Not ideal for a supposedly business-friendly hotel!
The soundproofing was terrible. I was woken at 3:30am by a guest next door and kept awake for 90 minutes. I could even hear bathroom noises and light switches! Even after changing rooms, I could hear doors slamming and people shouting in the hallway.
Check-in was uncomfortable, with housekeeping vacuuming right beside reception, making conversation difficult.
Breakfast was limited and not very filling. One morning it opened 20 minutes late, leaving me just 10 minutes before an excursion, although staff kindly offered an omelette.
The saving grace was the wonderful receptionist Hrispima (?) and the manager. They upgraded my room, waived minibar charges and even surprised me with a complimentary airport transfer. I really appreciated their kindness.
Lovely people, but unfortunately the hotel itself fell short of expectations.
