I didn’t know at the time I booked the Rainbow Lodge but there is NO staff on site. When you check in, you have to wait to receive an email from Rainbow Lodge. Complete the check-in paperwork on your phone, upload a picture of your driver’s licenses and then wait for Rainbow Lodge to send you a text message with the code to access your room. This entire process takes a LOT longer than it should and much longer than if you talk to a human being, in person!! Had I of known about the check in process before I booked the Rainbow Lodge I would have stayed elsewhere. The room itself was fine, it was clean, the bed was comfortable. The AC/heating unit never turned off. I had to turn it on and off manually.

This is our favorite place to stay when in town. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfy - and you can’t beat the price! The automated check-in feature is convenient as well.

For the value this is a clean place to stay. The pros are that it was clean, and pet friendly. The cons: I walked in, and the smell of fabuloso about knocked me over. I had to clean that up with some natural cleaners I had, and air it out for hours on I even be able to breathe. If you’re sensitive to toxins, just a warning. For such a beautiful place in the mountains, and nature, I would have hoped for a scent free environment free of parabens. Plug on the tub was broken, so water wouldn’t stay in. Also, the dead bolt had been removed, that kind of freaked me out as a solo traveler. The property was pretty run down, but it looked like it was for sale, so I guess that’s why there was no staff in the main building. There is a phone number in case you have questions, but other than that no one on the premises. There was what looked like an apartment upstairs, and it sounded like someone was nailing art to the walls or remodeling literally until 2-3 am. I didn’t sleep very well, but again, for the money, if you need a place to crash, and you’re not picky, this will do. Would have been 5 stars all around with these things fixed. Maybe next time!
