i never even saw the room. This was my second bad experience with Hotels.com in the SAME day after years of using the service with rarely a negative experience. It makes me really question whether I will use it again. In this case, the hotel was not a hotel at all but an airbnb equivalent. There was no front desk and nobody to speak to at the property. The entry was locked so we couldn't get in the front door. I do occasionally stay in AirBnBs on my own but never with my family. Found a hotel through a different app and had a good night. Did not bother trying to talk about a refund since I expected the result would be I would be pointed to the no refund policy. I don't like buying things blind, especially if I can't be confident on what I am receiving.
