All the staff we met were friendly and very helpful. Our room was lovely, very clean and had a whirlpool bath which was immaculate. Breakfast was great and they even managed to give us veggie sausages despite minimal notice. We really enjoyed our stay.

Charming historic hotel in the heart of Wooler. Very convenient for walking St. Cuthbert's Way. Rooms are small, but ok for one person.

Staff and breakfast great as usual. Been here before a few times. Nice and quiet for a good night’s sleep. Everything clean and tidy. The bar is well stocked and meals are available most evenings. There’s a great Italian at the back and a few other pubs etc serving food. It’s a good base to pop to bamburgh or Kelso over the Scottish Borders only 30 mins away.

Good location in the centre of the town. Very helpful, friendly staff. Pleasant room with a huge bed. Excellent breakfast with good choice and very tasty items. Couldn't sample an evening meal as the kitchen was closed.

Visited this place on 22nd July and it was just excellent. Staff, food, amenities everything was just top notch. I was a bit nervous if the room would be nice or not but I was surprised. So every time you want to tour Northumberland National trust park and want to see beautiful hills from your room, you should book Black bull inn and yeaah I am definitely coming back with lots of friends. 😛

We chose the Black Bull Inn as a place to stay for our all-female group before going to Holy Island and overall we had a good stay for the price. Check-in took place at a small desk at the end of the crowded bar through a perspex screen which didn't feel very welcoming and we were well and truly scrutinised by the pub customers! The rooms were fine and one was gorgeous (number 4). Breakfast was fine but avoid the poached eggs which I think had been made in the microwave. Another guest's egg exploded in her face!

Lovely place. Very comfortable bed and kind staff. Shower struggled a bit with water pressure in my room but it was fine and normal for old coaching inns in my experience. Breakfast was good.
