Very helpful staff when I had lost/forgotten my wallet with Visa card in a restaurant. The receptionist lent me local money to take a taxi back to the restaurant ! Good breakfast with a view.

1. Location Shumon Hotel is ideally located within easy walking distance of major attractions, including the National Museum of Tajikistan, Rudaki Park, and the Ismoil Somoni Monument. I stayed at a different hotel every night in Dushanbe, so I had a good opportunity to compare their locations. In my opinion, Shumon Hotel has the best location of all the hotels I stayed at in the city. 2. Room The room was neither too large nor too small, but just the right size. One of its biggest advantages is the large window, which can be opened fully. This allows plenty of fresh air into the room and makes the stay much more comfortable. 3. Staff & Service I did not have much interaction with the staff. However, when I arrived to check in, my room had not yet been cleaned, so I had to wait approximately an hour and a half beyond the scheduled check-in time before I could enter the room. 4. Breakfast Breakfasts at hotels across Central Asia tend to be quite similar, with some minor differences from one hotel to another. Shumon Hotel's breakfast was neither particularly better nor worse than those at other hotels I stayed at. It was fairly typical for the region. 5. Other Impressions & Value for Money Dushanbe is a relatively small city, and the area around Shumon Hotel is one of the more lively parts of town. Considering its excellent location and reasonable price, I think the hotel offers good value for money. The nearest supermarket is a bit of a walk away,

Quiet, clean and peaceful

Lovely large hotel close to shops and museums and tourist sites. Staff helpful and welcoming. Cold beer sold in the restaurant.

The proximity to some of the major tourist attractions in Dushanbe. The rooms were spacious and many had fantastic views. The breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of items.

I have travelled to many countries around the world and many places within my own country Canada, stayed at hotels and Airbnb’s yet never lost a penny or any of my belongings but On my 48hrs being in this hotel, they stole my gold ring. I went out for few hrs and when I came back to my room and realized that my room and my bed was organized and clean. So Whoever entered my room to clean up, he or she was the one that stole my ring. I went to the guest service complained there’s was lady cannot recall her name, I told her my ring is missing from my room, and it’s my engagement ring please look into it if any of your staff has stole it or took it by mistake please ask them to bring it back I’ll even give them money. I paid over $1800 Canadian for that ring However until today I haven’t heard anything back from them. My advice to the fellow travellers, this hotel is nice, clean and the view is okay and breakfast is good too. However when leaving the hotel to go out, do not trust to leave any of your expensive items behind. Otherwise you’ll most likely have the same experience.

Overall good stay. Good breakfast, nice staff. The room was clean but definitely dated and there was some carpet staining that was a little unpleasant. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure in the shower was incredible. Walkable area.

A fine hotel in the center of the city

Staff spoke English quite well. The hotel had a central location. The room was large and clean. We had only one issue. The TV channel that would show a World Cup soccer game was not available in the room so we had to watch it in the restaurant. Two staff members told us that they would keep the doors to the restaurant open after closing time. However, when we arrived ten minutes before closing time, the restaurant was already closed and locked. It's important to keep promises to guests. It is noteworthy that the staff did solve the situation, albeit 20 minutes into the game. Nevertheless, I would recommend this hotel because there were no other issues and service level was good overall.

Nice hotel

I stayed at the hotel for 1 night. The staffs are friendly and helpful. She prepared our breakfast box for early check out. The location is in the center of Dushanbe. It’s located on the top floors of a business building. The beds are super comfortable! Bath room is big. The only problem is the heater is fixed so the temperature at rooms are too high and air is too dry. The classic designed hotel is good furbished and clean. Recommended for everyone!

Over-priced and over-rated

My room was cleanish but small. My bed was very soft and uncomfortable. I found this place over-priced and over-rated, never need to go there again and never suggest to any of my friends.
