"Great buffet meals!!"

"We had a wonderful 3nites stay at the end of April 2026. The staff were attentive and kind. The location is excellent, in front of quiet alley with several cafes. The hotel entrance may be a bit off putting, but once you walk up one flight of stairs, Sama Hotel Sherif Basha lobby awaits you behind glass doors. Newly renovated one floor hotel. Be sure to select rooms with windows on the alley side or main street side. The windows are well insulated from noise. The location is only blocks from the other Sama hotel that is in the square, which is much more noisy. So many restaurants, shops and cafes to choose right in the neighborhood. Access to Egyptian museum and the Nile river is faster on foot than Uber, due to high traffic congestion. With that said, Uber is great since it is abundant and very very affordable. We love this location and the hotel is EXCELLENT. Breakfast is limited but fresh and basic. So many eateries around that we save our tummy for the street food. Can't wait to return to Cairo. "This hotel is the perfect base to explore the Pyramids at Giza and Saqqara. We used their personalised entrance service to go directly to the pyramids without the usual entrance way which was nice - it’s not a glamorous entrance mind, but it’s very convenient. We also added the additional tour guide option which made exploring the site much more efficient as well as learning a few extra nuggets of local knowledge and historical insight. The hotel itself is tucked away from the rest of Cairo in its own compound so was surprisingly quiet. The grounds themselves are well maintained with lovely lawns and water features for the birds. The food was good, though if you’re vegan the lunch menu was poor. That being said, the tomato sauce and pasta was actually the best I’ve had pretty much anywhere so that’s a plus! The Indian restaurant on site however had amazing vegan options and we ordered too much because the portion sizes were pretty big! The room itself was clean and tidy and had everything we’d need - but the internet connection is terrible. Better to rely on your own 5G connection."

"Clean hotel with nice friendly staff, clean bathrooms, the rooms need an upgrade though. The hotel is situated in an old building right in the middle of downtown Cairo which is a perfect location. The continental breakfast was poor. The elevator is old and unreliable. A good stay for the price."
