"Only minus for business traveler, there was no ironing board in the room. Otherwise a reasonably priced hotel with all the basics very well handled and located at a good place. Room was clean and reasonably well maintained, staff was friendly and helpful, area was nice and with good connections, and breakfast was good buffet with multiple options. It was comfortable and I do like the concept. I was afraid that the no AC was a deal breaker but surprisingly it wasn't as hot in the room. I stayed with 6 ppl and the layout was very efficient. I like how the toilet, shower and sinks were individually on its own separately.
The time of year dictated that there was no AC when that specific day required it. The staff changed our room from a direct sun facing to the other side that had no sun - it was perfect!
From the attentive and helpful reception clerk to the attractive and well-designed room, we felt very fortunate to have stayed at Oceania near the Opera in Nantes. We did not get the chance to try their breakfast or the welcoming piano bar, but we plan on returning soon.
Wonderful short trip with my children. Booked one of the offsite suites which was a great experience.
Pros: Beautiful decor, excellent location, accommodating staff.
Cons: breakfast ends at 11 (which I found to be a bit early), no A/C in unit (not a big deal unless it’s quite hot, and then sleeping with the windows open is difficult because of evening foot traffic and street noise outside).
Overall it was an excellent stay and we would love to go back.
This was a nice hotel with a big room. The bed was a queen sized bed and the bath was full sized with tub shower combo. It had a kitchenette with sink stove, microwave, flatware, plates and cups, pots and pans, and electric teapot like I had in my other French hotels that heated water about as fast as I can microwave a cup of water for tea at home. It's a great place to stay overnight, very close to the rail station. Easy short walk to old town, castle and cathedral. Has everything you need, including air conditioning. Charming lobby with great coffees. Friendly young employees.
I was surprised considering the location how quiet my room was. Very comfortable bed. The staff was excellent. I did not eat at the hotel and due to the location, food was difficult to find.
This hotel is totally unique - a 19th century chapel converted into a boutique hotel. The continental breakfast was extravagant, the service excellent, and the location right across the street from the Jardin des Plantes, one of the most unusual, artistic gardens we'd ever seen
