Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta – All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"Our family had a wonderful time in this resort. Staff were very kind, respectful and accommodating. Beautiful and clean place. The food from all the different restaurants were delicious. Over all would recommend this place to family and friends. "
"The renovation is fantastic....food is fresh and so much variety. The beach was excellent for catching waves as it is shallow sandy bottom for quite a ways. Walking distance to Bucerias and the nightly shows were great, especially the Riu party which was the best music and costumes and dancers I have experienced in Mexico. This trip solidified my interest in only using Riu properties. Clean and professional."

8/10 Good
"Everything was amazing other than our check in experience!! It took over 2 hours and Alejandra was not helpful at all, she had a MAJOR SUPERIORITY ATTITUDE for such a young inexperienced person! We’ve stayed here at this exact Riu 5 times now and this was our first really bad experience!! Not Nice at all!!
Also the rooms were so-So!! Average, not impressive at all. We stayed at the the Riu Vallarta and Veronica the manager there was way more accommodating than the manager at the Pacífico Palace!! We upgraded our room and ended up having a suite which was originally advertised on Agoda which we thought we were getting but, once again didn’t receive what we booked!! Hence we paid an extra 500$ Canadian for the room we thought we were getting and were supposed to get through Agoda!! We will be taking this up with Agoda once we return to Vancouver, Canada. All in all Riu needs to upgrade their management staff!! I asked to talk to the GM and they sent some useless person called Elvira to help and she did basically nothing!! Again had a horrible attitude!! They would never last in Canada in this field!!"
"Octavio was very helpful and took care of us. The room was not clean. The floors of the bathroom were dirty as were the walls near the toilet. The jacuzzi tub is too high for climbing in and out unless you are over 5' 8" tall. There needs to be steps allowing for safe entry. I banged my leg the first time trying to get into the tub (while using a children's plastic step) and received a huge bruise when I slipped. My husband had to help me in and out of the tub from then on. I am 5'4" btw. This resort catered to families with small children. We tried to play Pickleball and the nets were missing. That was one of the main reasons we picked this resort. There are not enough restaurant choices. The Asian and Italian restaurants were good. No pickleball or tennis activities. Too much catering to "members". Felt like I was at a country club that didn't want me there."

6/10 Okay
"I have very mixed feelings about my stay. The resort itself is beautiful, featuring three massive pools, and generally good food with smiling staff. However, the "behind the scenes" experience was exhausting, and by the end, I was actually ready to head home early. I moved to 3 different rooms within the first few days ( Room 1: Started with a toilet that wouldn't flush and a massive sink leak. Maintenance was intrusive, returning after I asked for privacy and leaving dirty boot prints behind. Room 2: The AC leaked a white, paint-like substance. I had to insist the manager inspect the splattered bedding with me before moving again. Room 3: Better, but shared a wall with a loud, banging elevator and had a recurring dripping noise in the AC.) The pools are lovely and warm, and the pool guys work hard at cleaning, but the physical state of the area is concerning. There are missing tiles, broken sections, and rough, dirty cement on the pool stairs. Many of the outdoor steps are broken and falling apart, and the chaises and umbrellas are chipping. There is also a weird "policing" of the umbrellas; staff would constantly close them on poolside guests. They really need a better setup for windy days and more permanent shade options. Be prepared for the local wildlife. Birds are a constant problem, but there is also a family of iguanas that harass guests for food, even climbing right up onto the chaises! This is made worse by fellow guests who leave trash out."
